I really would urge you to steer clear of this foul and contemptuous city.

I just looked around for the Leonard Cohen concerts in Manchester and found this:
http://www.manchesterinternationalfesti ... aspx?id=56

So I understand Mr. Cohen's concerts are part of a music festival. Does this mean that he's one of many singing on those four nights in Manchester? Or is it just Mr. Cohen for the whole of those four nights?

Does anyone know more about this?

I hate to be columbo to your Miss. Marple... but here goes.

If you read on you will see that this year's Manchester Music Festival will be finished by the time Leonard comes. I believe having Leonard play there is a sort of introduction for the following years festival. A good way to raise profile of their festival.

Don't panic (I know I did), it says that Leonard is playing proper concerts for all four nights.

There is just too much tension on this forum, every word is cross referenced, fact checked, put in the washer, ironed out. I can't blame everybody though. This is a special occasion and (unfortunately) one that requires military precision. Wouldn't it be great if we could just relax about it, and end up with a pair of front row tickets.

There is a way to stop the touts by the way. On Tom Waits last tour (bless him), he arranged a scheme where you had to show up on the night with ID that matched the address on the tickets. So it can be done people! Ticketmaster if you're listening.

'Oh, yeah there's one more thing. My wife loves you Leonard' ...okay, I don't have a wife, I just wanted to shamelessly get that columbo quote in any way I could.

Good luck everybody. Strap in, this is going to be a bumpy ride!

'Oh Leonard takes me down, to an Opera House in the city, and he feeds me vimto and black pudding, that comes all the way from Blackburn.'

Who here has tried every variation of the words 'Leonard Cohen Manchester Opera House' in the google search bar, yet to no avail?

Is 47 different ways too obsessive?

The people who own the thing don't even seem to know about it; just some shiny nonsense about 'Mask of Zorro' stage show or something, and that nonsensical genius Davey Spikey, The Chuckle Brothers (come again...as an actress said to a bishop) and Sandra Bernhard? Can I be the first person to say, 'er ya whut mate!'

A signed pair of Leonard's undercrackers goes out to anybody who can pour clarity over my open wounds. I don't mean to get biblical on y'all, but somebody give me the blood!
