The information would have been very helpful if it was not for the fact that i have lost my ticket due to a mistake on my sons part, if you read my sad story you will understand why.
It is on sell, find and swop tickets thread.

Now hoping that our tickets for June 17 and 18 won't get lost in the mail!
Hi Jarkko, so you're not staying in Manchester until the fridaynight June 20, for the last Manchester show? We come over from the Netherlands for just that show.

If you can afford it I might try thinking where MrC and his entourage may stay in Town and head for there. He has never shied away from fans as a balmy walk from The Albert Hall in the early nineties reminds me ..... so .... some possibilities .... Boutique hotel called something like "The Great St John Street" is literally 50 yards from The Opera House and understated enough to be appropriate, second and in a way favourite is the Radisson Edwardian, shiny 5star in what was the Free Trade Hall scene of the famous Judas call to Dylan, Midland Hotel ??? ...last years room, Lowry, footballers and WAGS, Malmaison or MacDonald maybe and finally perhaps The Arora but on balance I would guess at the first two and given the length of time he is in town I'd think of becoming a lounge lizard for a day or so, you never know who you might meet ;-)

Stan,
When I chased him hot foot back from the Apollo in eightysomething I was staying at a now DSS hotel near the gig, it still didn't stop me getting into his hotel lobby so perhaps we will hot foot it from The Opera House and see if we can have a repeat performance LOL, sending this makes me think that I ought to drop you a note with your seat number on it, I look it out this evening if I remember and reckon we can hook up at The Grange? Latish afternoon on Saturday 12/4 if that is good for you.
Hope all is well.
Kind Regards,
Jon

Travelodge still had £39 rooms earlier today, and you can squeeze in 4 people for that. You'll not find Mr C walking the halls, (but Jarkko spotting could be the order of the day) and at that price you could afford to spend the day lounge lizarding almost anywhere!
see you there

Stan, I snuck in to Thursday on the back of the Guardian offer, having bought Edinburgh in despair when I missed out on Manchester the first time. Could someone who knows Manchester recommend a nearby civilized hostelry as a target meeting point for all four nights?

There is a Great Pub called The Briton's Protection on Great Bridgewater Street which is about 10 minutes walk from the Opera House, Decent beer, fairly good house wine and a stunning collection of Whiskies and Bourbon's. It's a Victorian style place with a couple of wood panelled rooms at the back which are great for chatting. No juke box means no chance of Leonard but I reckon that if you had a CD with you they could play it and I may even mention that to Dave the barman and see if we can "heal it with a song", I could even pull rank and ask Peter and Markus who own the place. It has a decent beer garden at the back if it,s sunny .... this is Manchester .... after all or if you smoke then at least you don't need to smoke on the step.
Next suggestion is "The Temple of Convenience" on Oxford Road, two minutes walk from The Britons Protection and underground in a converted mens public loo! Great Juke box and lot's of stupid bottled beers and a bit of a bohemian atmosphere, I like it, never stayed all night but you may find some LC on the Jukie, there is certinly Doors and Joplin and Dylan and other stuff that may float your boat.
You could try the cloud bar at the Hilton if you feel opulent, 27 floors up and great views, only opens at 6 or so and you can book. Principally cocktails at about 6quid which is ok if you are a sipper not a slurper like me. It may be where LC is staying so you never know, about 8 minutes to the MOH and two minutes from the Britons Protection and there is an world class spanish Tapas/wine bar called Evuna just along Deansgate from it if you fancy a bite, not too sure that the others do food apart from the Hilton.
On balance I reckon I'd go for the Britons and hope for music .... just called the pub and they are Happy to play LC and who wouldn't be so I'll drop off a CD or two and if you are in just ask.
Better go, hope that this helps and maybe see you in June.
Kind Regards,
Jon
