Hi Mary,
Please see Jarkko's thread in this section, "Find, sell or swap US/Can Tour
tickets here."

Hi Dumbjaw,
I'd not say extremely easy, for Philadelphia (I had lived there for about 20 years),
given the traffic congestion/parking difficulties in some areas at times. But,
the grid system and lots of one-way streets is a plus. There is a towing/ticketing
aggressiveness in Philadelphia that visitors would be best to be aware of. Also,
leaving valuables/coins, etc. visible in on-street parked vehicles is something
to avoid, similarly to those other cities you mentioned.

Thank you Steven!
I had previously read this thread. I thought that I had somehow missed a detailed listing of times to pickup the will call tickets at all the venues - guess not. Will wait patiently in the hope that a list may pop up in the future. Sorry to have bothered you with my question

.
Warmest regards,
Mary

Given the methods at play here my guess is that there will be no "pickup" pf tickets. You will arrive with your credit card and ID and will probably have to enter the venue at that time. That's how they did it on the last Tom Waits tour but for that it was
all tickets, not just tickets purchased as part of a particular presale.

Love TicketPhiladelphia's "pick your own seat" option.
Looks like there is nothing left except scattered singles, most of which are obstructed view.

I went to the box office at the Kimmel Center this morning - in spite of the snow storm here in Philly (not bad really). I arrived early on purpose in case there was a line and as I was approaching and saw none outside the Kimmel, I went in a Starbucks across and down the street and positioned myself with my coffee at the window so that I could monitor any activity outside the Kimmel box office. Haha! I had gone to the box office a couple of days ago and been assured that they did not open until 10:00 a.m. So - at approximately 9:50 I ambled across the street. Imagine my surprise when I pulled on the glass doors and they opened (before 10:00)! And further imagine my horror when I observed a long snaking line of people waiting inside for the box office to start selling at 10:00!! Haha - again!! As I headed to the end of the line I said to the first person I passed "Leonard Cohen?" and the answer was an affirmative! I was filled with anxiety, realizing that while I was standing there people were online ordering tickets, and on the telephone ordering tickets, not to mention the number of people ahead of me in line all of whom would be buying tickets. I had one ticket from a presale through this forum, and needed one more. I started talking to the people around me, obviously fans of Leonard Cohen, and people were reassuring that I should be able to get a ticket. And actually I quite enjoyed my time standing there talking to people about concerts they had attended, etc. And I was especially happy I guess, because I was able to obtain another ticket in the area that I wanted! I asked the ticket agent if they frequently had lines like this for shows and he said he had never seen it before. People were hypothesizing that probably a certain number of tickets were maintained for people coming to the box office, and then others for people ordering online and calling on the telephone. I have no idea if that is true. I have glanced in some other threads here in other cities where things have not gone so well. I know that I tried to get tickets online for the Beacon show as soon as they went on sale and there was nothing available!! In any event, today I saw a lot of happy people leaving with tickets in hand - and I was one of them.
One other thing, when I visited the box office the other day I asked about my "will call" ticket from the presale and whether or not I would be able to pick it up prior to the date of the show. I was told then that I probably could - and may even be able to obtain it when I came back today. I asked today and was told that they could not give it to me today but that if I came back in a week or so, they should be able to print my ticket. I will give it a try!

That's great! They must have set aside seats for those in line because as I noted above there was little but flotsam and jetsam left by 10:30.

So, who is familiar enough with the Academy Of Music venue to talk about the view from the Parquet Box Seats? Particularly one of the four center boxes.

Great view because you're elevated a bit above the Parquet (orchestra). For a ballet, an opera or the orchestra those might be the best seats in the house. For a show like LC where the whole width of the stage likely won't be used, being in the middle up front would probably be better assuming the PA isn't setup such that you miss it (nothing worse than having orchestra-pit seats only to find that the PA is hanging up high and to the sides and you can't hear the vocals because you're primarily hearing the stage amps).
I've never seen a popular music show at the Academy so I'm not sure what the PA is going to be like but, for example, if you're front-row center at the Tower you're not going to hear the show very well.

Somewhere here - I guess in another thread - I reported that I had bought a ticket when they first went on sale, at the box office at the Kimmel Center. I also had a ticket that I had purchased through the forum in the presale. I had asked if they would be able to print out my presale ticket for me and they told me they could if I came back in a couple of weeks. Well - I did that. On the weekend, I went to the box office and asked them to print out my presale ticket. The woman said "no problem" - except that there was. Ha! The system would not let her print the ticket and another agent told her that because I had bought it through the fan forum they could not print it and I would have to pick it up at "Will Call" on the night of the show.
So - just wanted to let people know that I was given incorrect information originally.
I am SO happy to have tickets for this show. The woman at the box office on the weekend searched and there were no tickets available. The show is completely sold out.

Double.ell.ess,
Thanks for the report. Hopefully others that ordered their tickets via the fan pre-sale
won't get the same misinformation you and I got or will see these posts
and avoid a pointless trip to get the tickets in advance of the will call time.
