Since some of the bios for the awards are really short, or no bios at all, I have added the induction speeches of Salman Rushdie, Lou Reed, and Adrienne Clarkson, as well as all of Leonard Cohen's acceptance speeches in written form to the Halls of Fame site. More photos too. I have also added an extra post which combines all of the awards bios into one post so they will all appear on the same page because there are too many of them now.

The only Canadian to receive a Kennedy Center Honor so far is Actor Hume Cronyn in 1986 (born July 18, 1911, London, Canada; died June 15, 2003) husband of Jessica Tandy, who also received the honor the same year.

Deadline: Hardcopy of Nomination required by Friday, May 31, 2013 at 12 Noon.
No previous formats of the Nomination Application will be accepted.

Nominations for the Hollywood Walk of Fame are now being accepted by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Deadline for submission is Friday, May 31, 2013 at 12 noon. Hardcopy is required. All nominations will be considered at the annual Walk of Fame Committee meeting to be held in June. The committee will make selections for the year 2013.

IMPORTANT: The Hollywood Walk of Fame considers all nomination applications once a year in June. Please read carefully the guidelines and process to submit an application. The Hollywood Walk of Fame does not accept, encourage or support any other effort - letter writing, online petitions or signature gathering - to nominate a star.

The Walk of Fame categories include Motion Pictures, Television, Radio, Recording and Live Performance/Theatre. The committee will select approximately 12-15 names for insertion into the Walk. When nominating an individual or group, the sponsor must submit a photo, a bio and the nominee’s qualifications as well as a list of contributions to the community and civic-oriented participation. A letter of agreement from the nominee or his/her management must be included with the application.

I've just been listening to Leonard's induction speech into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2008). In his speech, he quotes John Landau's famous statement "I have seen the future of Rock and Roll and it is...". Now I know that Landau made this statement and was talking about Bruce Springsteen. Was Leonard just joking or did Landau really once said "...and it is not Leonard Cohen"?

I was just wondering, maybe someone could enlighten me.
