Vancouver and Oakland replace Honolulu
Re: Vancouver and Oakland replace Honolulu
Checking my Amex statement this morning I notice that Ticketmaster have already made the refund for the Honolulu ticket so full marks for their prompt action.

Scott,
Then I'm wishing 'Avalanche' for you as well. Don't think you'll get 'The Night Comes On', but then who thought we would get 'A Singer Must Die'!!
Warmest regards,
Mary

What a shame Scott.
I had looked forward to meeting both of you, but indeed....we will hope for a tour in the future! Let Sifa know that he will be missed in Oakland, and we'll do our best to "make do" with you!

Re: Vancouver and Oakland replace Honolulu
I just received my Honolulu tickets in the mail and posted them to the recycling bin. I'm still a bit miffed about the cancellation. To me, proper protocol for any commercial venture is, you do your market research and planning, make a decision, and then commit to deliver your product or service. If there is a loss, you suck it up and move on. Once you decide to sell tickets all sorts of practical and emotional issues emerge. It would be nice if Leonard at least published an apology.
Re: Vancouver and Oakland replace Honolulu
I'm pretty sad and upset about the Honolulu cancellation. Why schedule here at all? We aren't in a position to fly to the mainland for a concert (we'd like to) and this was going to be a celebration. To just have it rescheduled elsewhere, well, that's hard to understand. I usually look to see if the store is open before I go buy food...maybe the promoter should have paid just a little more attention to their jobs before advertising, selling, then cancelling. Pretty much a bush league move. It leaves a real bad taste. You all have fun. We just got a refund.

Re: Vancouver and Oakland replace Honolulu
I think they cancelled Hawaii because they HAD to. It's a far flung place (but what a place to end a tour!) to which they would have to fly a lot of crew and equipment. I'm certain there was no ill intent - they just didn't know how the tix would sell ... until they went on sale. Maybe after all these miles, they have to worry about the cost. Not very uplifting for you guys I know. But, they didn't plan this tour on the fly - they tried, I am sure, to make every single city work out. I thought they'd come to Vancouver - but we weren't on the list, this time 'round, and got in only because of your loss. So, they tried...but 'logistics' sounds very true to me. Touring is high cost, esp. if the tix aren't selling well. I know how awful you must feel. But, hell, you live in Hawaii! Have your party and play Leonard's discs. I live in rainy Vancouver and will likely get a nosebleed. So, that's life on the road, I think.

Re: Vancouver and Oakland replace Honolulu
You're likely right - or very close to 'right'
and yes, I can understand (from my point of view) what a drag it must be. I honestly thought (before Vegas and Hawaii were announced as the tour end), that we, here in North America wouldn't get another chance. But, if one looks at it objectively, it's an easy task to do Vancouver and Oakland - far easier than Hawaii. I have to wonder...rhetorically, I guess, how many 'big' acts you guys get. It 'is' off the beaten path, and it must be costly. I bleed for you, I do, my heart does, as I felt the same way when we were 'dumped' - but now that we're 'undumped' - well...c'est la vie. I guess that's the only way we can view this. You never know...'something' may happen over on that beautiful piece of paradise, one day, or some day... And if it does, I'm sure it will be good.
Cheers,
Linda.
