I haven't heard any rumours about it, but it would be nice if he played in Norway again. But I don't think that will happen, and I'm not going to be greedy. I've finally seen him once, and even that was more than I could ever hope for; I was certain for the longest time that I would never ever be able to.

musicmania wrote:I remember a similiar rumour earlier this year about Leonard playing the EP this year. I personally though would prefer Leonard indoors in Ireland next year. Unfortunately the only venue big enough for him here is The O2 although I'd love a smaller venue like The Grand Canal Theatre aka The Bord Gais Energy Theatre (I HATE that name). No chance of it happening there though as capacity is only 2200 but it would be a fab venue for Leonard................
Of the three types of venue in which I have been to (outdoor, indoor stadia and concert halls) the last of these wins hands down for atmosphere, ambience, comfort and acoustics. The Tampa bay performing arts centre (cap. 2,500), the Austin/Texas performing arts centre Bass hall (cap. 2,900) and the Coliseum at Caesars Palace (cap. 4,000) all worked wonderfully. The Grand Canal Theatre (I refuse to use that other awful name) would be ideal, but probably commercial suicide unfortunately. Likewise it would be great if he would emulate Springsteen and skip Dublin altogether, doing concerts in Cork, Limerick and Belfast, but the only one of these with a viable indoor venue is Belfast. (Cork Opera House and University of Limerick concert hall max out at 1,000 - unless he emulates the eurovision and heads for Green Glens arena and sits us all in the horse manure). So Dublin's O2 has to be the most likely venue, apart from Belfast. Anyway fingers crossed that he will come back to Ireland, though after the purgatory of those freezing nights in Kilmainham who would blame him for sticking to sunnier climbs.

We may have one more announcement (of one concert) before Christmas. If so, it will probably come tomorrow morning with a presale next day. I will probably get it confirmed today. Stay tuned.

I had a dream tonight. I was a submariner, our mission was (as it turned out) to prevent the leak of the information about LC tour. The dream ended when we checked the Forum and found a post with *** famous blue letters *** by Jarkko. It has some additional lines after the blue one: something like, ok, now I need to cancel the booking for - there the author mentioned a city and an exact date.
That's not a hope for Europe, that's I've head for the highway.
For now, good night everybody! I wish you'd find a promissing anouncement tomorrow, with the name of the city somewhere, just to say, in the middle of Europe, where many Cohenites would be able to gather. That would be a good Christmas present...

Ouch - that's like saying he's playing in your country in Paris to a Belgian as far as the Scots are concerned.
I too hope there will be a show in Scotland. Leonard hasn't played north of the border since Nov 2008.
Wendy (no, I'm not Scottish)

The new Hydro may be a good venue - Leonard could open it for us?!

It is wonderful for those people that live in Europe, but Mr Cohen is worshiped and adored in New Zealand. He would sell out any venue in minutes. It has been a long time since 2010!

Surely the full schedule should be announced soon? If I want to make one of these shows I really need to start making plans, seems strange the full US tour comes out but this is bit by bit. If London is the only UK show I will be very disappointed, having missed tickets whilst waiting for a more northern show (which to me seemed obvious at the time, him having played twice in London last year already).

The first US gigs are in two months and the last three, from now.
The first European gigs are 5 months away, and the last more than 8.
We have no exact dates for the future announcements, so I can
only suggest that our UK members remain patient.
