Yes, we should have mentioned it; and we could have also mentioned "Coming Back To You", although I can't remember when was the last time he performed it concert.HelenOE wrote:I can't believe we forgot one! Re: Some dirty thoughts following the Pula concert
This may happen because that line is singing by Hattie Webb, not Leonard Cohen.HelenOE wrote:I can't believe we forgot one! "Take This Waltz!"

Great playlist - thank you for the link! I wasn't sure about "sleepy" either, & when I listened to recording #8 & #9, it was very clear that the bud is still sticky, not sleepy. . .Goldin wrote:I do love that version (ending with the Quazimodo bells, as it was noted by someone on the Forum). There are both "little ruby cup" and "sticky little bud" (what a cool images, by the way).
Three different recordings of the original Darkness are #7-9 in this playlist.
P.S. I'm not sure about the word "sleepy"...
I love that version of Darkness too, & yes, the images are fabulous!
Scrolling down your playlist, I couldn't resist listening again to My Oh My - and my oh my, what a beautiful song! How lovely it would be if Leonard would premier that song in concert in the next couple of months (I think I saw it in the alternates on at least one setlist, maybe more); & I presume it will be on his new album - I hope so.
Editing: Since we are reviewing songs relating to the topic, dare I say that we might also mention Diamonds In The Mine: ". . .he was eating up a lady/ where the lions & Christians fight." Though again, it is certainly open to various interpretations. . .

Oh Rachel, speaking about My Oh My - usually I hesitate to ask twice, but maybe you can help me: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=32518
I'd appreciate this a lot!

Sure, Goldin. I'm glad you asked again, because I don't remember seeing your first request. I'll post the lyrics in the other thread (the link you gave above), so as not to hijack this thread any furtherGoldin wrote:Oh Rachel, speaking about My Oh My - usually I hesitate to ask twice, but maybe you can help me: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=32518
