Doesn't Jarkko quite clearly state that details will be posted WHEN they are available? Until then all the punters out there should save their typing fingers and wait patiently instead of wasting thread space with useless posts containing questions to which there are no answers.

Thanks for supporting me, Rabbit! For the time being there is not a single venue confirmed (and that includes Glastonbury, too, although the festival organisation has made some advance info public),
so we have to wait until the schedule is ready.

mvdh - I don't think you do need to post to subscribe for notifications - look at the bottom of any thread and you see three links: Board Index; Subscribe Topic (with a tick to the left of it); and Bookmark Topic. Clicking on 'Subscribe Topic' will subscribe you to the topic you're looking at. A bit late for you or I, subscribing to this thread, but anyone else reading this thread may find it helpful

*edit* I've investigated this further and it's more complicated than I thought. If I view the forum using Firefox, I get those three options I mention above. If I view it using Internet Explorer, I only get the 'Board Index' option. However, someone else using Firefox also only gets the first option. I have no idea what the solution to this is, if any

As are we all. I wonder what kind of Leonard we'll get? I just listened to Jungle Line - and Leonard sounded a bit like Tom Waits did before he went 'very' growly. I think a lot of people are half expecting 'the Leonard of old' - but it's going to be tough for him. I love the stringed instruments, though. Reminds me of FCC. I expect him to recite some things, as I just don't think his voice could handle an entire tour. But, even if he just recites his laundry list, with that great backing, it's sure to be a wonderful show.

I don't imagine we'll be hearing anything 'concrete' for a bit. That's just the way it seems to go around the LC camp, but it will be well worth it, I'm sure.

If I'm reading the artical at the Guardian correctly this should be the longest tour of Cohen's career. The artical says he is about to start his first tour "for 14 years" instead of first tour in 14 years. That would mean he'd be 87 when he finishes the tour . It never ceases to amaze me how often these "professionals" of the press never seem to check their stories before they put them to press .

I have been a lifelong fan of Leonard Cohen's work, all of it the music, poetry, books etc ever since I bought my first ever LP, which was the Songs of Leonard Cohen, in 1968 at the age of 11. I am thrilled that he is touring again at last, as I have never yet seen him live. I had the opportunity to go the Albert Hall in 1988, (I think?) but was unable to make the gig in the end...have kicked myself ever since!! Please let me know where, when and how I can obtain tickets for any of his UK gigs....hopefully he will do more than just Glastonbury.

Our list of emoticons should have a little 'thumbs up'. In other words, I agree, as we are all waiting for news, and Jarkko will spread that news the moment it is released. I don't know why I felt a need to agree on virtual paper, but I do. Maybe we should start a poll: Those who are not waiting for details, and those who are waiting for details. 'Artical'? Tut, tut: poor proof-reading I see.

In British English, 'for 14 years' is correct usage. 'In 14 years' sounds a bit stilted to us. Also, the structure of the preceding clause differs: 'I haven't had a day's illness in 14 years' but 'I haven't been ill for 14 years'.
