Hi Yankovic,
Are you a promoter or something? Do the tickets on the TWO posts about the Hall of Fame gig in New York you have put up really cost thousands of dollars each? As Undertow says, aren't there too many zeros?? And is this 'promotion' or whatever it is open to many artists' fan websites, rather than to the public, i.e. I presume this post has not just been sent to here? Or where did this 'competition' come from?

I'll wait patiently for the Brit dates, (I'm in London), with every finger crossed that I can get a ticket. I'll keep checking this site, and I refuse to be paranoid that some commercially minded group or individual is going to buy the maximum amount of tickets and flog 'em off at a fat profit on that blessed site, ebay.

Hello, fellow Cohen lovers! I hope we all get at least one ticket. Suemerlyn

Hi Suemerlyn ~

Even though it's not to our liking, the number of zeroes is accurate :( .

No, I'm just a big fan!

All I am doing is collecting all the links that talk about Leonard Cohen and his Rock Hall induction and posting them on this forum.

I hope you notice the dots and commas in the ticket prices.

I'll be more specific.

Your options are as follows:

$2000.00 - Two thousand dollars per seat - upper balcony
$3000.00 - Three thousand dollars per seat - lower balcony

$10,000.00 - Ten thousand dollars per seat - round tables on the floor in front of the stage

The sweepstakes are a seperate issue.

Check the links I provided.

You mean a table on the 'floor', not on the 'ground', right? ;-)

Hey Undertow –

It's not Valentine's day in Montreal or LA yet – so Feb 14th might still be the day!

Hi
Like Rob everyday I check site for dates, saying to myself it will be Valentines day. By the way I have been a fan for 35 years my husband longer, over the years when I say I love Leonard Cohen you get the usually comments, songs of dome and glum, but I say I dance to Leonard Cohen, so come Leonard[

first of all, i wanted to take the opportunity again to thank Jarkko, who is keeping us as informed as he possibly can !

i think we are all very grateful for that.

so if you are unable to await the details in 'sweet anticipation', please keep in mind what it is like for Jarkko, having to read impatient and sometimes complaining or demanding posts.

under those circumstances it could well have been A LOT EASIER for him to keep his information to himself a lot longer and and only say something closer to the date when the schedule is being released.

This news about a prospective concert in Norway came from Anne Riise who found it at http://www.oblad.no/article/20080109/BA ... 77435/1001
Free translation for those who cannot read Norwegian  This local Norwegian concert promoter has been asked to arrange Leonard's gig in Oscarsborg this summer, but he is not willing to take the financial risk alone, unless he is able to cash his receivables of last year's income - or if he does not find a partner for this expensive project.

Image
- Oscarsborg fortress island is located near Oslo (one hour by ferry)

I want to add that I don't know ANYTHING about this concert so please don't start bombing me with questions :D / Jarkko
