Well, I will be in Dublin on 27th July, and only now do I see that Leonard might be on, and there are no tickets available that I can find. Or have they not come on sale yet? Maybe he will do a turn at the Midlands Festival with Anjani. I can't really see him wading through the mud in his wellies, but anything's possible in this life. It could be the Isle of Wight all over again.

Ah but this is midlands Mullingar mud and surely he and Anjani will want to see Joe (Dolan)!

Red Poppy, I just youtubed Joe Dolan. Anybody who wears a white suit with a white shirt and white shoes would do well to immerse themselves in a bit of mud. Please could you arrange for Davey Arthur and the Fureys to play instead? Aren't they from Mullingar? Now that really would be a treat 8) .

Diane - it's just as well you didn't say that in public - about the Fureys & Davy. The Fureys are heart and soul Dublin. And Davey is one of those strange people from Scotland. Joe is the man -you'll love him. "Make Me An Island" "Such a GOOD LOOKING WOMAN" "The Mullingar Bachelor" - the list of touching, evocative, poignant songs goes on and on and on and on and on......
Joe is ultra 8)

Poppy, I know you know Joe WAS the man (and even that's debateable outside Mullingar). 8)

If tight pants work for you, why give them up?

Did I hear a whisper of a slur on one of my countrymen - Davey Arthur? Was one of his wedding guests and he’s no stranger than the rest of us. Think he might be a bit of a romantic - See the 2006 CD Ultimate Collection - has tracks such as ‘We dreamed our dreams’ and the ‘The Grand Affair’. Might not be able to entice him to the Midlands Festival, Diane. Why? Same CD has ‘The Reason I left Mullingar’. Has nothing to do with the virginally attired Joe Dolan. Red Poppy – are you and Joe friends? Were you in town for the march last Saturday? A great success, by all accounts.

Diane - just spoke to someone in the Tripod. Nothing in their schedule for Anjani for 27th July. Are we being misled?
Are you staying overnight on 27th in Dublin en route to Mullingar? Want to meet up? What about you Red Poppy? Are you willing to show your face?

Sorry Red Poppy - just remembered that you have questions to answer about the infamous Limerick competition, so you may prefer to lie low. Diane arrives with a fierce reputation, but I'm just a pussycat, so nothing to fear from me.
Go on - live dangerously - I could bring you, incognito, as my friend/lover/brother/agent/chiropodist but you'd have to un-incognito yourself to me first. What about it?

I stand by the Limerick outcome,
even if it was anathema to some;
the best poet came first,
the rest have a thirst
but end up in the ranks of ho-hum.

Happy to show my face and fly the flag for Joe, Damellon.
And, Madonna, a man in tight pants has nothing to hide or simply doesn't feel he has to hide it/them!!!!

Damellon,
were you at that reception when you were sweet sixteen, assume it was at the wed wose cafe?
:D
The march WAS a great success, though why they have a march in June perplexes me. But then lots of things/people perplex me.
And as for the Scotland thing - well they speak with funny accents; eat funny food; wear funny clothes (I know this for a fact) and keep their sporans locked -and then they accuse other people of being tight! :(
And they tried to kill the English (beware all you people travelling to Mullingar, this may be an ambush) and why would anyone want to do that?
And they produced Jimmy Shand and bagpipes and fellas in skirts who toss big poles (Freudian or what???)- and then Damellon has the gall to accuse me of having a "thing" for Joe Dolan.
At least with Joe what you see is what you (might) get. :o

Hi Damellon and Red Poppy,

I am meeting Diane in Dublin late on 27th when my plane lands, and we are thinking of heading direct to Mullingar, if we can find accommodation near there! Maybe we can arrange a place to meet somewhere in Mullingar on Saturday 8)

Aw Margaret, you’ve spoiled my fun. :( Hoped to see Anjani in Dublin so wasn’t actually going to venture outside the Pale. Now I will have to go to Joe Dolan (and Mick Foster of Foster & Allen) country if I want to get a glimpse of Red Poppy. :D Think it’d be worth it? Just noticed this is my 100th post ....it's a sign..

Hmm Red Poppy - Margaret's got you off the hook. Can't call your bluff now.
It’s a measure of a man’s confidence in his own sexuality that he can wear a kilt. What do you think Osmachar?

Sorry Damellon :(
I'm sure Diane will be glad to meet you both, she'll be in Dublin that day before my plane arrives. I booked my flight before there was any mention of a concert with Anjani and possible sighting of LC

Congratulations on your milestone post :)
