Might try as well then.

Maybe not that many people were buying anything because it's so expensive and they need bods to fill the gallery.....

The opening private view of the exhibition is on Sunday 8th July,
Leonard
Cohen will be appearing. As we have had such a huge interest in the
show,
we can not send everyone tickets to the opening. Whoever pre-purchases
the
art will automatically be invited and the others will all be put into a
blind ballot.

this was from the reply to my original e-mail, I didn't even ask for an invite I only asked when it was going to be and if Leonard would be there

I think people will wait to view the work before buying, something like that you want to do in person rather than off the internet, my feeling anyway

Also received invite today. No purchase required :D

Looks like this could be another mini forum meeting! Don't know what some of you look like but if you recognise John and I please say hello.

Will you still be wearing that pinafore & the same haircut, Margaret?
And will the Scotties come in kilts?
I haven't decided on my ensemble yet but am narrowing it down.
Perhaps a strategically placed shamrock or two!!!! 8)

Margaret - Isn’t this awfy exciting? To see Leonard’s paintings and the scantily clad RP in the same place. I won’t know where to be looking. I’m getting into my Sunday best for this wonderful occasion - less memorable than Red Poppy, but also less draughty. Look for the handknitted kiIt hose with the thistle motif and the new Harris tweed skirt. Would ma tartan bonnet be too much? If Leonard can be persuaded to give us a bar or two of something sparkling we could get a bit of a sing song going and as they say at home you can ‘grab your granny, shoogle your wallies and get your tootsies tapping.’ Can’t wait. Will seek you out.

Coming from Glasgow I thought I would just bring a bottle of Ballantynes - I know LC has appreciated it in the past!!! So no kilt just the smell of very good whisky and one great big smile.

Red,
I hope the weather is warm for you that day.

Damellon,
translation needed please for "shoogle your wallies" I think the bonnet might be a just a bit OTT !

I haven't decided yet what to wear myself, that pinafore is way too small :)

Thanks, Lizzytish, for your congratulations. I'm really looking forward to it. Shall be dumbstruck of course, so shall probably only admire from a distance. Wonderful things have happened to me since that night in Joe's Pub in New York. From disappointment to euphoria...Hallelujah!

Well, I see I clicked on Quote instead of italics... just as well, I guess... succeeded in making it as I'd suggested, huge :) .

That's wonderful that things have only gotten better. Your many miles have come home to roost. I hope you'll make it a point to meet and speak with Leonard at the opening.

Shoogle yer wallies = jiggle your teeth (presuming they're false).
Do you and/or John have any distinguishing features, Margaret? How will we know you ? Are you overnighting? Will we have a party seeing how you're not delaying in Dublin en route to Mullingar?

Damellon,
John and I are on some of the recent Hydra photos and notwithstanding any unfortunate mishaps before then, we still look pretty much the same. We will be driving to Manchester then home (it's only about 40 miles to Manchester) but a little partying may be possible before we head home :D Wallies will not be shoogled by me, not so sure about my other half
