Ticketmaster has O2 arena sales to the public starting on Friday at 9 am. Is there to be an opportunity for pre sale purchases via here?

Well friends - I wish you all the best of luck as far as getting your tickets, as long as I get mine. :)

I nearly jumped through the roof when I read that Leonard is playing Oslo. This will be so inexplicably awesome I cannot stand up straight.

Much glory to Jarkko for his sacrifices and hard work! You are a champion!

Seeing all these new members, and observing the small schisms between old and new, makes me glad I joined last year ;-)

All the best, friends!

The ticketmaster.ie site only lists one date, 14th June for Dublin and the UK Ticketmaster site isn't listing Manchester at all. :? Are the Manchester tickets available through some other source?? :?: :?:

A funny thing happened this morning--I had a phone call from Montreal by a woman trying to find where to get advance tickets for the concert there. She got my name form the Cohen Nights arts society membership info. Apparently when she called the booking agent she was told to join leonard Cohen club. I redirected her to the forum but was surprised that the agent was directing them to the files. I guess I shouldn't have been really....

Hi there St.Theresa,

I see the UK is getting MORE than their share of Leonard lately ( ;) - good on you guys, send pieces of his clothing back to us as souvenirs), now I'm worried that there will even be a Vancouver date. I know there's more Canadian cities to be added (I bet Edmonton Folk Fest is a likely contender), and we have our own Folk fest here, but I don't want to see him in a folk fest surrounding, I want to be front row center, at the Orpheum Theater. Weep, then pray for me, St. Theresa. Thanks.

omg, this is amazing. I actually managed to see him when he was here 2 years ago (on my birthday) at Bay & Bloor to promote Book of Longing, but wasn't a proper Cohen show! This is far too exciting :)

It appears that Leonard's appearance at the Opera House in Manchester will be onsale at Ticketmaster this Friday; the official Manchester International Festival website:
The four dates are a trailblazer event ahead of the 2009 Manchester International Festival.
http://www.manchesterinternationalfesti ... aspx?id=56

It also states on their site that these will be the only theatre dates on the UK leg of the tour but as we all know there's a chance that Leonard might hit some smaller venues in a later leg. There's a contact number on there for one of the event organisers and I thought it might be worth getting in touch to find out some more details regarding ticket sales but Jarkko is of course fabulous at keeping us updated and I don't know how much they would appreciate a call from me in all honesty anyway! :-)

It also appears that the AEG website is being periodically updated with information regarding ticket sales so it's worth keeping an eye on that too...

http://aeglive.com/tourdates.php?id=177 ... type=event

I don't know if anyone on here has a telephone contract with O2 but I do know that they often run presales for artists playing at the O2 arena. I'm with Orange so won't be able to keep anyone updated but perhaps if someone hears something they might pass the information on?! I've been thinking for some time about getting a SIM card for O2 so that I could take part in their presales and it would be worth it for Leonard. It's probably also worth noting that Ticketmaster usually note whether there is to be a presale period on the right hand side of the venue's/artist's ticketing page and there doesn't seem to be one for Leonard yet - for the O2 anyway. Let's wait to see what happens with Manchester...

Good luck! Ooh, thanks a billion once again to Jarkko for keeping us all updated too!

Does anyone know, for O2 London, is it better to try online or actually go to the venue and queue up - it's 75 miles away but worth it I think if in-person bookings open at the same time ?

I guess that as bookings seem to be opening for London and Manchester at 9.00 am on Friday, it now seems unlikely there will be any pre-booking period for these ?

Emotions running from euphoria to anxiety, and back again via everything else on the way - a fan since 1967, when a track appeared on a sampler album (remember those), I think the album was "the Rock Machine Turns you On", and hooked since that moment.

I think that was the one that did it for me too.... "Hey That's No Way To Say Goodbye..." ?
you may be right, I may be crazy.... but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for...

Looks like the local organizers are working now very actively, and we are not getting information from the tour management as fast as things are moving on. Therefore I strongly advice members to keep their eyes on local news. I try to update the schedule page
http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/tour2008-1.html with new details, but it is difficult to know whether the on-sale dates etc. are confirmed or not. Anyway, check that page on a regular basis.

Wijbe found this Dutch website: http://www.ticketforsale.nl/nieuw/ticke ... certId=925 - this company is selling tickets to the Amsterdam concert, and they say they have only some 36 left. According to Wijbe the number is varying between 35 and 50, and the telephone number does not answer.
****See the next message -- this is a fake ticket seller****

The Norwegian tickets go on sale this Saturday.

http://www.manchesterinternationalfesti ... aspx?id=56 says that tickets to Manchester go on sale on March 14 while http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk does not list these gigs - but they have 02 London and Edinburgh (on sale March 14 at 9)
***Correction: they now list 02 London and Dublin, not Edinburgh!!***
With this high activity everywhere it begins to look probable that we will not have any pre sale in Europe. I have not got any confirmation yet which venues might be included. The pre-sale arrangements have been implemented according to advice and instructions given by the tour management. We will do some changes tomorrow when the Toronto advance booking begins because of the person who is selling the pre-sale password at eBay (to be delivered to the buyers "one hour before the on sale begins")
