So, next March 11th everything will become crystal clear official (and the gold rush will start ).
Master Jarkko, any idea of about what time will the announcement be happening? I reckon the EuroFans will wear the browser's refresh button while the sun makes its way to wake up Los Angeles 8) ...

I wonder if there's any chance of Leonard allowing a video camera into the rehersals for a few songs that could then be put up on here and/or his offical Sony site?? I know back in 85 he allowed several TV videos to be shot in Europe (Germany if I remember corectly) of soundchecks/rehersals of several shows. I think a teaser video of a song or two would certainly not be a bad idea to help drum up interest for the tour from the general population and the casual fan (if there is such a thing). It also will give the news media a more recent clip to air when the news of the tour dates starts hitting the airwaves. I own a camera and would be willing to give up a weekend to travel to LA or Montreal or where ever he is holding the rehersals to shoot the footage :!:

Jarkko

11th March - Thanks very much for the info.

I hope that it is just the tour schedule that is announced on the 11th and tickets won't go on sale at the same time.

This happened to me last year with another singer I'm very keen on. Everyone knew the tour was being planned, but not what the dates were or when the tickets were going on sale. Both happened at the same time and we were all taken unawares. I was at work and the first I knew was when I had a text from a friend.

Hello,
A short note to clarify the reservations about the Benicassim festival situation; I expect most of us - myself included - would accept and be prepared to see LC in any venue, whether theatre or muddy, open air field. My reservation about Benicassim and similar festivals is due to the fact that when I was at Benicassim it was impossible to enjoy any act without hearing the music from 5 other stages. ie, I would prefer to listen to Leonard Cohen without the backdrop of happy-hardcore-techno, electro-clash and brit-pop from the other tents. Nothing against the other genres (I was performing on the "experimental electronic' stage myself), but after waiting to see Leonard Cohen for so long, i think it would be a shame to see him battle against techno, rap and heavy metal bands.

Damellon! You remembered! Does this mean you've been contemplating making an offer? He is still available, as it happens.

But please don't paint an unfair picture of me. I am usually very honest, trustworthy and loyal. But this IS possibly my only chance to see Leonard Cohen live, whereas I can always have more children. At least I think I can, and I'll probably be forced by my wife into some extortionate deal involving new jewellery and/or shoes before I'm allowed to try.

hi friends :D oh dear red wine is a bad thing, I didn't mean to let that slip.

I will let everyone know if I hear anything certainly, but normally I don't know anything quicker than anybody else. I have no inside information at all, wish I had, I would have front row seats for all the gigs I want to go to. I also can't sell them before they actually go on sale, I have to wait until 9:00am just like everyone else.
sorry everybody, but if anything happens I will pass it on, although jarkko will know all before me.

While waiting for this year's tour info, here is a ticket to one of the gigs in Leonard's first tour in 1970
(Andy Jones took it from eBay)

March 11??? March 11????

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I have been feverishly checking out the site for 23 days. It's like being excited for Christmas to come and then it's announced that it's being moved until the third week in January.

Okay, I guess I will live. I keep telling myself that it's not too far away -- only 17 more days.

And I hope he comes to Victoria or Vancouver, because everyone here wants to see him so badly.

Cheers,

Natalie
