that was the only bit that actually annoyed me, my friend had told me that it was wonderful and I was looking forward to it, but some eejits were talking and arguing through it, mind you when they stopped talking I cried my eyes out at the end, and yes had I heard it from the beginning I think it would have caused me much more tears than eventually happened, so maybe I should say thankyou to the rude people.
hearing someone read their own poetry is just amazing, I love the way the words seemed to change their meaning completely when the "master' spoke them. we are looking to see if we can get to any other gigs before the end.

Play 'If it be your will'? please

re sat nite gig,am sorry so many ppl seemed upset by the behaviour of a small crowd of fans,i was wrapped up in the music and leonard to pay much notice!i was however genuinely blown away by the sense of happiness and enjoyment of those fans around us-we were in a2 and the mood was electric i,ve been to many concerts and have never been to one where so many ppl were so well behaved.the music transported me and the ppl around us to another place after the concert was over there where many ppl just sitting quietly in their seats not wanting to leave for fear a little of the nights magic would leave too i was one of those people!!!!!
leonard cohen owned that stage i dont think i would have noticed a herd of wilderbeest passing so intense was his stage presence favourites for me were waiting for the miracle,hallelujiah-trly amazing spine tingling experience and the anthem song ring the bells...
i will never forget the oppurtunity to have been priviliged enough to have been in leonards company and hope to see him again over the summer in athens

Just back from Sunday night in Dublin. It was wonderful, I won't try to say more. Going to Manchester on Tuesday night also.

I waited 20 years, hoping neither of us would die first. Lenny, you were worth the wait.

Just home and still buzzing from The Sunday gig which was incredible. Mr Cohen was charming, humble, hilarious and sang with great passion. The band backed him with great gusto and even though it rained quite heavily for a lot of the show, we all went away extremely happy. Highlight had to be 'Hallelujah', with 10,000 rain-soaked Irish belting out the chorus to beat the band (quite literally).

The final song was sung A cappella by Leonard & the whole band, with Mr Larson supplying hammond organ. I'm afraid I don't know what it was called, but it was a beautifully understated climax to an overwhelming evening.

Another sublime (to Use Leonard's word) gig tonight.

There is no taliban (I think you misunderstand who the Taliban are/what they stand for) but to assume YOU and therefore ONLY YOU have the right to behave as YOU deem fit, irrespective of who else you interfere with, deafen, drown, obscure is - in a word - bollocks!
But then you'll probably never be back here again anyway.

I read a comment referring to people who sang along with Hallelujah as gobs***es. It was really to this comment my post was aimed, perhaps I should have made that clearer, I was just surprised nobody else had anything to say about it, maybe gobs***e is used as a term of endearment among other cultures. To my mind it was very disrepectful and condescending towards people who were there enjoying themselves in the spirit of the occasion. Also it's a real pity some people had to put up with obnoxious drunks during the concert. There is nothing worse. Of course this is Ireland and if alcohol is taken away from people then it seems so is the will to live. I apologise if I caused offence to anyone.

DUBLIN SUN 15h JUNE - Well, what an amazing night! LC looked fresh, invigorated and gave a truly amazing performance! We all got soaked - but who cares? He seemed to genuinely enjoy himself and was warm, generous, witty and insightful throughout. The band was a really tight outfit - so professional, not a bum note all night. It was truly one to tell the children and grandchildren about. The rain stopped for Hallelujah and I swear the sun even peeped through the clouds at the climax of the chorus - really special. I've been privileged to see some incredible performances in my time, but this really really was an order of magnitude above them.
I saw LC in conversation with Philip Glass at the Barbican last year and he seems to looks and sound younger now - how does he do that?!?!
