approximately 75 selected solo artists/small musical ensembles and readers will play Leonard Cohen songs and recite his poetry/novel excerpts at designated spaces throughout the Toronto downtown core on Friday May 11 and Saturday May 12. This reminds me of the recent past in my hometown Toronto, when nothing was allowed to happen on Sundays, no movies, no sports, stores closed. Back then, the churches held too much sway.

Too bad Sunday is omitted. More residents, visitors and tourists will be further deprived of gaining exposure to LC's genius.

The Sunday is Mother's Day ... so maybe there was a worry that if the performers were out doing Leonard on the street all the Mothers would be missing from their homes.
