Yes, I had seen it too... I think it's a pity to see mr Dahi misuse his privilege to receive uncorrected proofs of Cohen's final book for personal enrichment...

If that is the case, to use an Aussie term, it's just "not cricket" to do that
Besides, you would think that being given something so unique you would never want to part with it!

I was watching this bid and shocked by the final price. It sets a bad example. Goodreads has given away 100 copies in the US, it might be another bid on ebay.
Anyway, through this bid, When Desire Rests is the first poem I've read before official release. I love the poem very much.

I'm not looking at anything until I have the book in my hand. I remember with all of the new albums I tried to avoid seeing anything or hearing anything beforehand which with social media was very challenging.
We are so so lucky and it makes me miss Leonard even more.
Looking forward to say the least about the release of THE FLAME.
Leslie

ADD: I changed my mind and will read anything that comes my way with pleasure!

Got my preordered book from amazon.de yesterday, it's the British edition by Canongate.
All I can say so far: It's beautiful.
However, I've found an error in the lyric version of 'A Street'. It ends with the words 'There may be wine and roses' - I'm sure this is a mistake.

Would it be any difference among these editions except cover design?
Remember the biography I'm your man, UK version has more photos than US version.
I am curious about this as well. Currently there are 2 versions listed on amazon.de:
Gebundene Ausgabe: 275 pages
Publisher: Canongate Books Ltd.; Main edition (2 Oct 2018)
Language: Englisch
ISBN-10: 1786893134
ISBN-13: 978-1786893130
Product Dimensions: 16.2 x 2.8 x 24 cm
Gebundene Ausgabe: 336 pages
Publisher: Macmillan USA (2 Oct 2018)
Language: Englisch
ISBN-10: 0374156069
ISBN-13: 978-0374156060
Product Dimensions: 15.5 x 23.5 cm
Unless there's a mistake in the listing, the second version has over 60 pages more than the first (336 vs 275). Would this be due to differences in layout? The book size seems pretty similar (15.5x23.5 vs 16.2x24)...

Marie and I have been discussing this as well.
Amazon.com (USA) gives these details for the US edition:
• Hardcover: 288 pages (6.1 x 9.2 inches)
• Publisher: Farrar, Straus and Giroux (October 2, 2018)
• Language: English
• ISBN-10: 0374156069
• ISBN-13: 978-0374156060
And German Amazon, for "US/International edition" that has identical ISBN #:
Gebundene Ausgabe: 336 pages
Publisher: Macmillan USA (2 Oct 2018)
Language: Englisch
ISBN-10: 0374156069
ISBN-13: 978-0374156060
Product Dimensions: 15.5 x 23.5 c
The dimensions are identical.
So, either German Amazon gives wrong product details, or there is another edition.
Anyway, the texts have to be identical. I can think of just one possible explanation: There would be more pages if every drawing had got its own page.
We emailed the group of publishers and asked them to shed light on this. Let's wait and see.
Edit: I’m pretty sure there is just one US edition, and the info on Amazon.de is not correct. We will know on Monday.

I am a loss to know what is happening with the release date of The Flame! It seems from posts here and on Facebook that the UK edition of the book is freely available in bookshops in Ireland and Amazon.de and other sellers in the UK and beyond have already mailed it out to overseas customers who pre-ordered. However, I have not yet come across anyone in the UK who has received their copy of the book.
I can wait until 2 October, when the the Kindle version will hopefully magically appear on my iPad even if I don't manage to get hold of a print copy before I leave Montreal that morning, but I am finding it a wee bit frustrating to see so many joyful posts from people who already have their hands on the UK edition of the book!

Oh be not afflicted by too deep an impatience, Friends ...
As for me: I began to meditate on "Songs of Love and Hate" in 1971, and have not done reflecting upon it, yet. I may not be quite ready for "The Flame" ....
That said: it will be a joyful, bittersweet day when I get to hold the book, and begin to read.

Ileene Smith at Farrar, Straus and Giroux confirmed today that the (only) US edition has 277 pages.
We don't know why Amazon Germany is giving those wrong details.
Also: According to Amazon.de the UK edition by Canongate has 275 pages while Amazon.co.uk says 288 pages.
(Those of you who already have the UK edition: how many pages??)
