Please LC, come to "wounded NYC." We need you here to heal us.

Okay, now I have to weigh in. With two references to NYC, I need to make mine the third.

What a holy reason to return.

What is truly incredible to me is not Willie Nelson but the amazing BB King who maintains a full touring schedule at 80 years young. Incomparable.

Here's wishing Mr. Cohen a healthy, wealthy and successful tour whenever he does so.

Wonderful news, I never thought I would ever get to see him :D A concert in Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall would be great, but anywhere within travelling distance and I'll be there.

I read that Tony Bennett is touring the UK at the moment and he's nearing 80.

I saw B.B. last year. (He was (only) 78 then. His birthday in in September, so I guess this is his 80th year! Anyway, he was absolutely fabulous. this last show was the best of all the times I have seen him, and I think I have seen him around eight times. I love B.B.!

And I'm gonna see him for the first time in just a few days.

Birthdate: Sept. 16, 1925

On a TWA, to the promised land
Everybody come on clap your hands
Don't you just love the way he sings
Don't you know we're riding with the king?

Hey, Helven 8) ! I could sure live with the idea of seeing both Leonard and you at the same time :) . Perhaps, by the time he's ready to tour, I'll be ready to travel to St. Petersburg, or you to elsewhere :D .

". . . a healthy, wealthy and successful tour whenever he does so" ~ you got it, Kush :D .

As the news has been removed off the front page, does it mean all celebrations are premature?

The great B.B.King. I have seen him twice in Cardiff, first in 68, then again over 30 years later.
The 68 tour had Brownie Mcgee and Sony Terry, and fleetwood Mac. When B.B. came on stage the Feetwood Mac band joined the audience to watch the performance. They must have done that every night of the tour.

What do you mean? The news is still on the front page of the LC Files (and will remain there for a while) !

However, I want to underline again that we don't have a schedule of the proposed tour and many other things have to happen first - including Leonard's own new album! Henning and I have also checked with Leonard that there will be no conflict with the Berlin Event (August 11-13, 2006). The registration is going to start on May 1 (in two weeks!)!

Sorry I thought I saw it last night in the latest news section and not the front page

Thanks for all your excellent work.

This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see him!

Of course New York will be convenient, but I'll go anywhere!

I do hope the "extensive worldwide touring" includes somewhere 'down under', whether that be Australia or New Zealand. I personally think the Sydney Opera House would be hard to beat as a venue (and a nice way of following on from the recent Hal Willner tribute concert)! 8)

Not withstanding this preference, I'd also love any excuse (not that I need one) to travel to NZ, so it doesn't really matter either way. I suppose, even in the worst case scenario of a 'no show' in this part of the world, I'd still travel to wherever else for a concert, anyway! :D

Cheers :)

That would be great 8) ! I'd be happy to meet both you and Leonard in person! But don't get me wrong - I'd be equally happy to meet you without Leonard :D . So, please, may his tour not be an indispensable requirment for your own travel to St. Petersburg  :) !
