Cohen on the Grammys
Re: Cohen on the Grammys
happened to be awake on this side of the pond, so watched the live streaming too.
"I never thought I'd win a Grammy. I was always touched by the modesty of their interest in my work"
Such an LC line!!
If a new album is to be released this/next year (be'ezrat ha-shem), I hope to see LC take part in the big shindig, red carpet, international media frenzy, prime time live TV and all that far from being modest jazz. And have the band recognized along with him.
Having the 'Tower of Song' recited in the youth idolizing music industry's shrine would be beyond symbolic.
Good night,

Dear Sharon, My hopes are with you and the advent of a new album! Wouldn't that be awesome...for Leonard, and all those on stage who contribute so magnificently to the final product of perfection!sharon.e wrote:If a new album is to be released this/next year (be'ezrat ha-shem), I hope to see LC take part in the big shindig, red carpet, international media frenzy, prime time live TV and all that far from being modest jazz. Hello LadyDi
Read any of those mountaineering titles yet? I am off to Thailand next weekend and am taking about 12 books with me - one evry two days adds up to a relaxing beach holiday as long as my girlfriend does not want to do too much shopping for the house shes built in her village!
Dont worry too much about the news - it could just be the piecemeal dripfeed of the tour will be replaced by the announcement of a new album and the full itinerary for a World Tour or at least a substantial program for the first two or three months?
Then again the reason for Jarkko dropping Zagreb from his signature is intriguing.

Re: Cohen on the Grammys
I tried to write down Leonard's words from the beginning of his speech. It was something like "as we make our way to the finish line that some of us have crossed".

I'm with you ladydi, ladydi wrote:He also recited the Tower of Song when he was the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame recipient. At that time, as meaningful as it was, it seemed to be coming from someone whose career was over.
But, why did he recite it now?
Knowing as we do that Leonard always takes time and chooses his words so very carefully - why did he recite the same thing twice? I too have a strange feeling about as to what it all means

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to B4real ~ me

Mary, yes, those were some of his words. I just happened to be on the phone with Leslie (mutti) in Seattle when Leonard came on and as she was in her car, I was trying to read his words off to her as he spoke but that line elicited a quiet "omg, why did he say that?" from me. Missed a few other words before he started into the "Tower of Song" but hope to be able to hear them all again.
Just sent you a pm. I am SO SO happy that he was with Anjani! And I have a gut feeling that the announcement will be concerning a new album!

Yeah, I am very confused at this moment. Leonard DOES choose his words carefully and perfectly. Right now I need to go to bed to get up very early for work but I know I'll be on the Forum as soon as possible (that is, IF I can sleep). He looks great and he and Anjani looked beautiful.

Take care,
Diana

It looks like this woman's press creds are from People mag. Maybe she will charm her way into an interview.

Have a great holiday in Thailand! Sounds wonderful and relaxing. I just ordered "Dark Summit", and had already read "Forget Me Not" (very interesting from the perspective of the wife). Thanks again for your suggestions!
All the best,
