What is going on on this website?!?!? On this official site? When you go to pre-sales, it STILL says that there are no pre-sales scheduled!!!!!! I came here at the end of last week & found dates, but no link to tickets & found it saying that there were no pre-sales scheduled.
This really sucks. If someone is volunteering to run this website it's one thing, but geez if someone is getting paid to do this... Wilco always sends out emails to their folks about pre-sales. Not only did I not get an email, but like I said, it STILL says nothing about anything pre-sales being scheduled on this website as I type. Ridiculous!!!
I'll have to hope for something involving the pre-sale on Thursday I guess...
Also does anyone have any info on how to go about finding the pre-sale code for Hamilton Ontario show? Thanks in advance, and here's to hoping that things get run a little better around here!
You must be having us on, linclink!!
Aside from your pretty insufferable rudeness to the people who spend long, unpaid hours on this work: the NY presale is alive and well. I just checked and tickets are available, and all of the presale and password information to Hamilton, along with the other venues, is clearly marked on this site.
Take the weird attitude somewhere else, please.
If you read my post, it says clearly " If someone is volunteering to run this website it's one thing, but geez if someone is getting paid to do this...". Which I'll clarify for you...if volunteers run this part of the show, then I'm grateful for all that they do, & understand that going above & beyond for true fans is something we should all be grateful for, & I am. I appreciate any & all efforts, but will say that, in the future it might not be a bad idea to coordinate things so that folks looking for pre-sale info in a pre-sale section wouldn't be thinking there is none.
If someone was being paid to run this, & on an official website where there were about to be loads of pre-sales going on & the section of the website that informs anyone about that was saying that there were no pre-sales scheduled, then I'd say it would be a pretty shoddy job done by someone whose job that is.
Why there's no info there makes no sense to me, but I do appreciate all that is done here by volunteers who aren't getting paid to help us all. I was clearly unaware of how things were run. I do hope that any suggestion to help them run better will taken in stride.
I honestly didn't mean to sound ungrateful...my issue would have been if folks were getting paid to screw up.
It appeared that the NY pre-sale was locked- as in "sold out", but it turns out it isn't. So that's worked well.
I am trying to get tickets for friends of mine from N.J., whose youngest boy is going in for surgery for tumors on his brain tomorrow. They are huge fans with more on their hands than they can handle right now. He's survived before, & I hope & pray that he will tomorrow. I just wanted to get them their tickets so they wouldn't have anything to worry about with this show. When I found out that they might be gone, I was frustrated is all.

Your explanation clearly has some overriding emotional content that appears, understandably, to be affecting your mood, linclink. I'm sorry to hear about your friends's son, and it appears that things not going well for you here may have been the last straw with the ongoing tension, and it set you off.

However, you're continuing to suggest that the pre-sale arrangement is being handled shoddily here [for pay or no pay] when, in fact, it's being done very professionally and with precision. The info that you need for pre-sale links/passwords has been posted for days and tells you exactly to the hour and minute when those will appear in their given sections... and thanks to the exceptional people running this site, they do.

To reiterate, if the people here arranging for this and many other things were being paid, they'd be getting fat paychecks. No one has screwed up. You haven't done particularly well, arriving here 3 days after our pre-sale started, and then flinging insults every which way like mud at a wall. For people here, however, frustration/anger/confusion/insults get levied at Ticketmaster... not at Jarkko or Marie; and, unless you're anticipating Diamond VIP packages [and even if you do, I'm still interested], it'll be interesting to hear how it goes for you... i.e. what quality of seats you get with whatever price range you choose.

The pre-sales originated as being for the members of this Forum, as a way of thanking us for our additional interest in Leonard [participating here and in a variety of other ways], as opposed to 'word getting out on the Internet' that if you just come here, you can get better tickets. New fans are always wanted and welcome; however, the whole enterprise has morphed to where a situation like yours arises and, rather than arriving with a feeling of gratitude, you come with a sense of entitlement. And then, with your not having been here and paying attention, when you don't understand how it works, you feel that that means something is wrong with the process. So your suggestions are coming through as being off-target and not needed, and you as simply uninformed. In fact, those running this site are open to suggestions when they're relevant. It works well for us and has been working well for years.

For the AEG or American Express pre-sales, I'm guessing the links provided by Ticketmaster will tell you more about them. Those don't relate to us.

As a final note, you and/or your friends will find much deeper and more current content and information on Leonard Cohen than you or they will on the official website [Sony], which links people to here because they're aware of this site's high quality; and they do not offer a pre-sale or any other number of kindnesses that overflow here.

Meanwhile, "back at the ranch," holydove... I was thinking about what set me off about possibly being too close  ;-) ~ the most recent 'theatre' type thing I went to around here was at the nearest college, and it was a dance performance by students. Granted it was a small room, but I sat about 1/3 of the way up from the front and couldn't see the feet of the dancers even midway back and most of the performing was being done midway back and further. I got up and moved to about 3/4 of the way up from the front [so about 1/4 of the way down from the back], to where I could see everything. What was the point of watching dancers where you couldn't see their feet.

Then, when I went to get the tickets for Radio City, my friend who was on the phone with me, as we tried to get a good row and seat for me in New York [I'd given her my credit card #] and whoever got the best one would enter the info. She got a $250 in one of the triple letters in the Pit , but then I'd forgotten about needing my TM password, so lost out on it. I was bummed out, so in consoling me, she told me how she'd gone to see the Rockettes at Radio City and was thrilled when she got a really close seat, but then when she watched the show, they were sitting so close that all they could see was legs  !

So, then, I'm picturing being AT the edge and trying to look up and over the stage [impossible without standing up] and fretting. So, I kept trying for something good in the $250 range, but just kept coming up with row P. Finally, I took the VIP seat the system gave me in the Pit [I think it's row CCC], but was still imagining a scene like the Rockettes. When I talked to her again, she reminded me that the Rockettes actually performed at the edge of the stage, though, and she was sure my seat was fine, and good, actually... by, then, though, I was freaked about it... so I called the venue [which, of course, is a call center... and their map sounded to be about the same as the one I was looking at]. The guy referred me to someone else there, and the second guy said that 'his' map seemed to show it to be a good seat and that, yes, I'd be looking up, but that the angle didn't look to be too bad. I tried to find photos of people sitting, but that didn't work out... so, now, I've just decided... this is not the Rockettes [and definitely not the college students]... and it's probably not rocket science, either, and I've most likely ended up with a really good seat :) !

And what better time to thank Jarkko and Marie for that, too :D ... as, if it weren't for the pre-sale, I wouldn't have even been on the site to get the VIP, either... and who knows what would have been left by the time of the general sale.

Hello to all,
I am certainly one of the shy ones, but I am so moved by reading of everyone's trials and tribulations that I have decided to share mine. My daughter and I attended the December concert at MSG. Although our seats weren't terrible, I found myself looking more to the giant video screens than actually looking at the stage. This wasn't really the experience that I wanted, but I resigned myself to the fact that I was lucky to have seen the man in person at all. Then came the Spring Tour announcement! I readied myself at the appointed time, grabbed the password,(without a hitch - thank you, thank you, thank you!) and prepared to do battle with Ticketmaster. My experience was similar to what I have been reading that others went through. Row PP? All the way to the side? Grrr! There has to be something better. Long story short, there was. Yes, thats right, I am now a Diamond VIP ticket holder! That's what credit cards are for, right? When I decided to make the plunge, the first choice that popped up was a pit seat, row CCC I believe. I kind of freaked out because all I could picture was sitting down below the level of the stage and looking straight up, kind of the way tourists look at skyscrapers. I gave that one up and settled on a seat in Row CC - pretty great! To anyone who has them, I'm sure the "pit" seats are designed for comfortable viewing. For myself, I can't wait to be sitting at the feet of the master, just this once.
Blessings , Pat

HA! How ironic [and, again, encouraging] that your thoughts so paralleled mine. I was afraid to give up mine and go for another, as it kept throwing me all over the place. Your seat is guaranteed to be perfect! I'm happy for you, and especially so given your MSG experience. Like you, I want to be able to see the whites of their eyes, their real eyes. The skyscraper was another great analogy for where my imagination took me, after my friend's Rockettes story [and what it took me to get a full view locally at the dance performance]. In fact, I'm sure that we'll both be happy with our seats :D .

Thanks, Jarkko, for setting up this pre-sale. It is much appreciated. I get to see LC again, in New York! He is a resplendent master. Still in his prime. Never better.

I see that the scramble for tickets was on again for New York. I was not planning on going
but found out that I could combine a trip to see Leonard with Fleetwood Mac, the New York Knicks
and the New York Rangers all at MSG. Bought my LC ticket today and got one to the right but
in row DD. Was really pleased at this late stage of the presale. Look out New York !!!
