Lizzy, I only noticed it because Fred was the newest member on the front page when I logged on just now. I'm just going through my inbox and the contest entries. When I saw the name it jumped out so I looked at the profile and then wanted to see the one post left so far.

Ahhhhh, okay ~ that makes
much more sense than your hanging out here with all these, trivial pursuits

.
Regarding your question on feeling that trolling is ridiculous, I edited my original response to you and added, "However, yes, John; overall, I do."
Back to your short stories

!
As for me, on with my day

Hi Heathcliffe ~
I know I don't 'need to be' sorry, I just couldn't think of a better way to put that at the time. I've known a few, younger people your age [two, particular males I can think of right offhand] who are open like you are. Not everyone is 'cool' and guarded, as many people believe we're 'supposed' to or feel the need to be. Not letting our vulnerabilities show becomes even easier as we become more jaded by life. It's a standard that's been set which serves a purpose, while it can destroy other, more valuable ones. I sincerely hope you eventually merge with someone who can appreciate the way you are.
I'll always remember something I fairly recently heard [at some workshop] in the way of an admonition to be true to yourself and be who
you are. This isn't an exact quote, but the jist of it is that, 'No one in the entire world is like you; never has been in the past, isn't now, nor ever will be in the future. No one can do a better job of being
you than
you can. So, don't try to imitate others. Be true to yourself ~ just value and
be who
you are.' You're doing a great job so far, Heathcliffe. Keep up the good work

.
That comes with every good wish I have for you, Heathcliffe

Rumi for Heathcliffe

Dear Heathcliffe ~
I was looking through my
The Essential Rumi book [Coleman Barks] and came across three things I want to share with you:
The chapter is titled "The Three Fish: Gamble Everything for Love" [that particular poem is
waaaaay too long to put here before it's time for me to leave, but I'll at least do the other three things].
On Gambling [a prose, intro-type blurb]:
To a frog that's never left his pond the ocean seems like a gamble. Look what he's giving up: security, mastery of his world, recognition!
The ocean frog just shakes his hiead. "I can't really explain what it's like where I live, but someday I'll take you there."
"If you want what visible reality
can give, you're an employee.
If you want the unseen world,
you're not living your truth.
Both wishes are foolish,
but you'll be forgiven for forgetting
that what you really want is
love's confusing joy."
"Gamble everything for love,
if you're a true human being.
If not, leave
this gathering.
Half-heartedness doesn't reach
into majesty. You set out
to find God, but then you keep
stopping for long periods
at mean-spirited roadhouses."
I don't want you to leave, but please just keep this roadhouse in perspective for what it was. Some set another plate at the table; others just say, "Sorry. We're out of food."
It still comes down to two things. Believe in yourself and hold on to your dreams.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Young dr. Fred is obviously a fan.

But i find it amusing to see a grown woman spending lots of time and effort communicating online with her imaginary friend.

Nope. Most people start out not liking me. Some come around. Some don't. I suspect you will be one of the don'ts.
