No. The date is wrongly quoted in some sources. It is Thursday 19 June which is reserved for Guardian readers.

Last year, The Independent re-published Beautiful Losers cheaply as part of its Banned Books season, so perhaps the Guardian has decided to compete for our trade!

I just wanted to say thanks to Leonard and the People who are making this happen. My wife and I secured tickets to the June 6th show in Toronto (row M). I am new to the forum, i didn't know it exsisted until last week (i just got high speed and then the concert annoucement got me fired up about Mr.Cohen). I thought my wife would kill me for suggesting we spend that kind of money on a concert but she didn't even need an explaination. Seeing Leonard Cohen live is like having dinner with the Pope (i'd skip the dinner if i had to choose). It has the potential to change your life and spirituality. My wife will be 6 months pregnant at the show, lets hope the kid learns to appreciate genius early.

Thanks again for this. It is glorious.

But is this the Manchester Guardian, not the Guardian you can get anywhere in the UK?? It is true, the 19th June is not on Ticketmaster. I wonder if that means only people who can get hold of the Manchester version of the Guardian can get tickets for that night ..

The Manchester Guardian is the full official name of the Guardian (the national paper). Perhaps they are sponsoring the Manchester Festival to commemorate the founding of the newspaper.

Looking forward to seeing LC in Toronto on 6/6. Thank you Jarkko for all your time spent on this forum and on the Leonard Cohen Files (how do you find time to do anything else????) and, of course, thank you Leonard for giving your fans the opportunity to see you on tour again. Can hardly wait til June!!! :D

Jarkko do you have any more information on this? Your site is saying that tickets for all 4 Manchester shows will be available from Ticketmaster today but this so-called Guardian reader only evening is not on there. I am a Guardian reader (and not ashamed to say so :) ) but can't find anything on http://www.guardian.co.uk/ about this.

Cheers

Richard,

according to This Thread, you just need to buy the Guardian on the 4th of April.

Tim (another unashamed Guardian reader)

PS I do hope no one starts reading the Guardian that day just to apply for tickets - clearly that offer is meant to benefit long-time Guardian readers like us...

Ticketmaster is now showing a 'hospitality package' price of £285(!) for the O2 show - no details as yet:
http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/120 ... norcatid=1

Anyone trying to buy tickets this morning don't get this confused with the normal price tickets!
