Re: PRESALE TO PARIS (June 18) NOW OPEN

I inquired via email with topbillet.

My question:

Dear Sirs,
I am going to buy tickets for Leonard Cohen, Paris 18 June, best available ones - and am confused about the seating in the orchestra.
Could you tell me: where are the ports W, X, Y. Are they the front blocks next to the stage. Does Port X, Rang 1 mean that the seat is in the first row to the stage?
Mercy

Their answer:

Hello,
Yes, the Row 1 at the orchestra is the first row.
The doors W, X & Y are all around the orchestra, on the floor.
Thank you.

BTW I do not have seats row 1, that was just for clarification as there were rumours about reverse counting at least on the balconies.
(But I would definitely want to buy ones...)

If you go to fnac.com, proceed as if you were going to buy a ticket, then cancel the purchase and repeat this several times, you can get quite a good idea of the seating plan.

Orchestra:
5 "portes" from left to right: Z, Y, X, W and V.
3 blocks of seats : all X and some W are on the central block -don't know if some Y-
Rows numbered "normally" : 1 closest to stage.

Tiers:
Number order reversed.
Row 24 is the closest to the orchestra while Row 1 is the furthest.

Simple!

Surely it is a simple job to identify a seat accurately. My 8 year old grand-daughter could do it. She is off school at the moment so she is available.
I have bought the dearer tickets but, to be honest, I havn't a clue where I am sitting.
What is wrong with these people that they can't perform such a simple task. It seems to be a regular occurrence at concerts.
By the way, my ticket says Orchestre. Does that mean that they expect me to play an instrument? :D

Hi Mary

go to www.topbillet.com, choose Leonard Cohen, click reserver, click then Plan de Salle
you see that porte P is balcony on the righthand side seen from the stage, middle distant from the stage
I think the rows on the balconies are counted invertedly in Paris and there are about 24 rows
so your seat should be in the fifth row from down

hope that helped
best, harald

I wonder why Leonard never sings "by the rivers dark" "ballad for an absent mare" or "night comes on (this one sometimes)" in concerts

those songs are beautiful and also among his best and I would love to hear them I ll in Paris on june 18 if someone has the opportunity to talk to him....

We could all add to that list of songs we would like to hear , but even a 8 hour concert time wouldn't be enough to accommodate them!
It was great to hear night comes on during the summer / autumn 2012 tour.Lots of captures of that on you tube!

I know this but as he toured the last year it would be nice that the setlist is a little different :)

I got one ticket for this concert for Christmas (very very good surprise!... I really love LC 's music, which is more than music for me, say more like something for my soul)
Here is my question :
My 5-year-old son would also deeply appreciate the show. He has been fond of music since birth (perfect pitch) and especially of Leonard Cohen's music.
So I was wondering if maybe I could take him with me (on my knees) !? This could let him an incredible souvenir...
Thanks a lot

Well, either no one here has already have this kind of question (=> sorry for disturbing), either I don't understand how a forum works (=>sorry also for disturbing)!
(anyway, I think I'll just try...)

From the venue website www.bercy.fr:

Tous les spectateurs (enfant y compris) doivent être impérativement en possession d’un billet. Les spectateurs sont tenus de respecter les consignes imprimées au dos des billets.

In English:

All spectators (including children) must be absolutely in possession of a ticket.

Wendy

PS You need to wait patiently for an answer! Not everyone visits the forum every day ....

Vivelamusique,
your question has become pure theoretical after Wendy's post; I'm afraid.
You'll probably know that the LC concerts usually last about 4 hours - if it is not a problem, I'd take him if possible ...
The issue (children on LC concert) has been discussed here some time ago:

Wishing you and your son the best LC experience,
