Johann -

thank you for reminding us of Susanne (halfCrazy). I join you in your appeal.

Susanne -

I never thought that the disagreement between you and Witty kept you from posting. You can be sure, I'd say, that Witty Owl never wanted to attack you, or your stated views and interpretations. He doesn't have to share them, of course, and he may state different opinions.

You will remember that I appealed to you to keep on posting at that time. Now I say:
Why don't you come on back to the war, pick up your tiny burden,
why don't you come on back to the war, let's all get even,
why don't you come on back to the war, can't you hear me speaking?

I was listening to Bruce Springsteen in my office today and wanted to share this. This piece was written in the immediate aftermath of Sept. 11 tragedy and the theme and his sentiments are quite obvious. The melody & arrangements are a fusion of Arabic/Qawwali/Western rock.
Where the distant oceans sing, and rise to the plain
In this dry and troubled country, your beauty remains
Down from the mountain roads where the highway rolls to dark
Beneath Allah's blessed rain, we remain worlds apart

Sometimes the truth just ain't enough
Or it's too much in times like this
Let's throw the truth away, we'll find it in this kiss
In your skin upon my skin, in the beating of our hearts
May the living let us in, before the dead tear us apart

We'll let blood build a bridge, over mountains draped in stars
I'll meet you on the ridge, between these worlds apart
We've got this moment now to live, then it's all just dust and dark
Let love give what it gives
Let's let love give what it gives
