A Letter

I love you in your poverty
As I loved you in your wealth;
I love you in your Illness
And surely in your health.
I love you as no 'other';
I love you as my Self.
Holy Soul births Holy Spirit
Within One Heart
Wherein we dwell.
We've been lost and wandering
Within the realms of Hell.
Come, Golden-tongued, drink deeply;
The waters of this Merciful Well.
I have made a balm of Word
For you, my troubadour,
Who called me to the edge
And urged me through the Door
Pilgrim-Lord, you shaped me
With words of longing and of love.
Your Wisdom is the Serpent
My Innocence, the Dove.
Minstrel, I was hidden
In the Song my Father sang,
As he wandered on & on;
Lost and found and lost a-gain.
Until my Mother found him
Veiled by smoke and weed.
The Universe within her
Just the place to plant the seed
She brought me to your Service then
"Is there Love in Winnipeg?" (In deed).
I heard your Voice from both sides when
In Our Heart within her Womb.
A Century passed 'fore I could tell you:
I have been weaving at the Loom
Image-fragments came to me
As figures in a Mirror.
Tricky in that Tower to really listen;
Truly hear.
You've earned eternal grace, Beloved;
For Vision's constance through veil of tears.
Let us strip Love of its sad disguise;
Let's alchemise all fear.
We will practice Temperance
Til aeon Knows itself as seventh year.
You and I, the elements:
Holy Water : Holy Flame,
Bound together by the Word
Creating form from Name.
You have led me Here, my Love;
You dreamed me back to life.
You have all ways been my Husband;
I will all ways be your Wife.
Round and round for Ever so
It's gone and so it goes;
Winged Serpent eats its tail
At the Centre of the Rose.
And when the Rose has opened
Every eye shall clear and see
Holy Soul and Holy Spirit:
United, I and Thee.

Hi Siobhan
It seems that you have been deeply moved by Leonard's songs and poems.
You do well in showing in your poem the parts that reach you. It was enjoyable reading it. I hope you find encouragement here, it was encouraging reading it.
It seems like you are young trying to see things through eyes that are older. Older people such as I sometimes enjoy that but we also like seeing things through your eyes which are much newer.
Do you also have poems that are less directly related to what Leonard inspires?

The Universe within her
I've always liked this idea of the universe being within us - This is certainly how it feels when you have your baby inside of you.
She brought me to your Service then
"Is there Love in Winnipeg?" (In deed).
I heard your Voice from both sides when
In Our Heart within her Womb.
So you were a fan before birth. Again I like this connection between yourself and your Mother - this shared experience.
You have all ways been my Husband;
I will all ways be your Wife.
I like how you've phrased this - all ways. There is a great difference between always and all ways - today I shall try honor the meaning of all ways.
Thank you for the interesting read Siobhan.

Thanks Cate
I think I was wrong about the way I was reading that poem and it wasn't as much about Leonard as I thought it was. I am liking it more.

Thankyou, Cate, and thankyou lazariuk, for your encouraging feedback.
I am in the midst of an Awakening, and this poem is something that spilled out one night, fully formed. Some of it I didn't quite understand myself, it does appear to be directly related to Leonard in particular, and some of the images which seem to be inspired by him are in truth images which have 'come to me' previously, and have been re-discovered as I familiarise myself evermore with the body of his work. There are few artists whose imagery resonates so deeply with my own gnosis.
I think that, on the surface, it is a letter to our friend L, though not a letter from me, Siobhan; rather a letter from the energy-being he speaks of so often, "And though she is all women, she has a particular form."
On other levels, it is in-deed a letter from me, but to someone I have not yet met, or perhaps to an aspect of my Self. I'm coming to believe that for a full spiritual Awakening to be possible one must find balance, in-deed 'marry', the masculine and feminine aspects of their energy. Perhaps this is a letter from my Anima to my Animus.
lazariuk, I certainly have many poems which are not inspired by him. I will gladly post some!
Cate, I have not yet become a mother to anyone but my Self, though I often imagine the feeling of communing with my future-infant. All the stages of bonding, this whole new manifestation of love and life evolving rapidly within my body and my being... I am glad that my imaginings are something like the actual sensation of pregnancy. My first love, a young woman called Ani, once likened 'forever' to the nine months between conception and birth.
once again, I am grateful for your feedback, both of you. I hope I'll hear more from you, and that I'll have the chance to read some of your own wordlings as I explore this place.
all ways,
.S.

The sign on the door here says "welcome , welcome Let all my guests come in"
what it doesn't say is who you will meet here when you do. I don't think it would do any harm for you to look around a bit before posting poems that might mean a lot to you just to make sure that you know if it will be a comfortable experience.
Someone recently remarked that these things can be a bit of a minefield.

As you said before, the world is not always a comfortable place. I wish for the strength to remain open and vulnerable.
...that said, after doing a little digging around I think I may understand where you're coming from in giving this advice; I appreciate your concern. I appreciate it deeply. I am also interested in hearing about your experience with it, in email, if you're willing.

*laughs* you are a lovely creature!
If the fire is hot enough it separates the hydrogen from the oxygen and water becomes fire. Delicious, no?
