Montreal 6/23 TV Broadcast!!

I just received my tickets for June 23 in Montreal, and it's written on them that the show will be recorded for television. Maybe another show will be recorded for a DVD and/or a CD.

I better dress nicely!

I just got my tickets in the mail today for the 3 Montreal shows and it seems the show on 6/23 is going to be broadcast on TV . I noticed my ticket for that show has the following writing on it (in French): Spectacle enregistre pour la television. Only my ticket for 6/23 has that on it, none of the tickets for the other dates has it on them. I wonder if it will be a live broadcast of the entire concert or if they will be recording it and editing it for a later broadcast?? Let's hope for a live broadcast so we all can finally have complete concert in our video libraries!!

It certainly will not be a live broadcast.That would kill the market for later shows.It will be aired sometime after the 2008/2009 tour.

I don't think a live broadcast would kill the market for future shows at all, if fact I think it could help it. The way I see it anyone who already knows Cohen's works and likes him enough to want to see him live will go to a concert no matter if it's on TV or not. That is as long as they have the money and can get a ticket to a show. I think everyone knows being at a live concert vs. seeing it on TV can't be compared. On the other hand someone who is not that fimilar with him probably would not spend the money for a ticket. But that same person may watch a TV concert and decided they like what they see and hear and now would want to see a future concert live. Of course they may decided they totally hate Cohen, but in that case there really is nothing lost as they were not going to go to a show to begin with.
