Leonard Cohen's Memoir

Post by Epiave »

Hi,

I'm new to this board. I'm currently studying Leonard Cohen and I'm trying to find his memoir. He doesn't seem to have a traditional memoir. Can you please give me some advice on what you think would be Leonard Cohen's memoir?

Thanks,
Elisa

You have answered your own question; there is no traditional memoir. Perhaps the most "autobiographical" of his works is The Favourite Game. But beware the biographical fallacy: poetry and prose in the first-person is not necessarily autobiographical.

you can't find his memoir if he hasn't written it, n'est-ce pas?

I suggest (authorised) biography Various Positions, by Ira B. Nadel, new edition published in December 2007 from University of Texas Press, http://www.utexas.edu/utpress/books/nadvap.html
