Tickets to see our dear Laughing Len aren't cheap, and many of us will have the added expense of travel and accommodations.

I'm sure a lot of you already know about hostels, but If you don't, they are a really fun and economical form of lodging, so long as you don't mind sharing a room with your fellow humanoids. Hostels also generally have kitchens and refrigerators, which allow you to save even more money by preparing your own food.

I didn't really discover hostelling until I was about 40, and I think it is an absolute blast. You meet wonderful people from all over the world. Rates are typically somewhere around $25 per night. There may be a discount if you are a member of one of the major hostelling organizations.
