Don't know of any yet, but a picnic in princess street gardens would be fine!

Princess Gardens is a nice idea, failing that theres loads of good pubs near the castle to choose from

hey all -
i'm looking at ticketmaster for edinburgh castle esplanade, but i can't sort this out: in blocks x2 and y2, how can i fugure out the names of the rows?
what does it mean row EE or row JJ etc.? is AA the front one, and so it goes backwards? does anyone know?

You do know that its Princes Street and not Princess street in 'Edinburgh!!!!!

I used to work with someone who, despite being Edinburgh born and bred, when addressing envelopes one day spelt it "Princess" and not "Princes". She wasn't best pleased when I pointed it out............

Hi all
I will be going to ed on 15th july and returning on thur 17th. As I will be on my own would be great to meet with other fans somewhere along the line!! Cant wait!! May well have spare ticket if anyone is interested? Cheers Ms Blue

Hi all I know there is a bit of time to go yet but the manchester meet ups have been rather long winded...am hoping the edinburgh bunch will be a bit easier to solve!!!

Good call, Sheila. My party are arriving on the Tuesday evening and returning on Thursday - although I do know the town reasonably well, I'm not sure I could pick a good place with the same accuracy as a local esident. But if no-one else comes up with any ideas in the next day or so, I will make a suggestion then.
The hill/castle area's got a lot to choose from - bars and restaurants everywhere.

Is the Ensign Ewart still a decent pub (place to meet)?
Just before the castle.
A few years ago I enjoyed drinking there and it sold a lovely pint of Orkney Dark Island.
Even when the Tattoo was on it was still easy to get served.
Any thoughts?any other thoughts?
