Computer set up

Post by Paula »

I was just wondering what others set up was like at home. My computer is in the living room and I quietly tap away with the TV blaring in the background or a CD.

Essential to my ensemble is a stack of CD's by the computer and an ashtray and of course my fags. Sometimes I am joined by the cat he likes to sit on the scanner. Often I am thrown off by my children.

What does everyone else do?

My cats like to walk on the keyboard and relay their own messages, thank you very much  . However, they'll also climb up/down into my lap or lie beside me on the table. My computer is in a room of its own. The overhead fan cools me on the warm days. If my sound worked, I'd have my cd's close at hand. However, I have to go to the other room and play the stereo at a louder-than-normal volume for music or NPR, one of which I usually have playing. However, as in now, sometimes I'm simply here in silence. That's nice, too. Great question. I've always loved getting a photo over the Internet of someone at their computer set-up, so I can better imagine them communicating. By the way, Paula, do you plan to emerge from your tiny, red "x" anytime soon?

Hi Lizzie - It is a bit worrying that my picture was so bad even the Gallery of Beautiful Losers couldn't cope. I will describe myself in that picture. I am wearing make up which I never do normally and I have Santa Claus hats for earrings. It was Christmas at work a couple of years ago.

I have (and you won't recognise any of these names) Derdire Barlow glasses (which I have now changed) and a face which is a cross between Sue Pollard and Lance Percival. But my kids love me even if the Gallery is struggling

 ~ I guess I'll get a dose of Derdire Barlow, Sue Pollard, and Lance Percival are all about, once you finally arrive! I wonder if you're the first to appear as an "X-Rated Beautiful Loser"!

Liz, i don't think you could describe any of those three names as X rated.
My computer is in the garage which is attached to my house, beside a fridge in which resides some cold cider (t.d.stiller, take note).
It's not bad in the summer, but bloody cold in the winter.
My two adopted cats live outside (semi-ferral or wild), all year round!!

Georges ~

You missed the whimsical humour of my comment, perhaps because you haven't visited the BL section to view Paula's photo. Try it  .

Actually, I am using a notebook...and usually I am in a living room, but sometimes I move to the other rooms as well...and my CD is in the living room and my dog Ritchie as well...he is always around me...mostly over my feet...he also likes a lot LC's music  for example Kenny G makes him to sleep a lot...but with Leonard it's another case...both of us we are dreaming a lot...:D

 ~ Iubita. Well, Ritchie needs some rest sometime. Many would say that was the effect of Leonard's music. Dreaming is far better. When you say "notebook," do you mean a laptop?

Paula! I heard from Jo that you finally made it into the chatroom! That's great :D ! I tried to catch you there, but alas, you were already gone. Hope to see you there soon.

Iubita! Have you tried getting there yet?

Oh-Oh, Iubita, now I don't know what you're talking about  . What picture do you mean? The chatroom is accessible via Jarkko's main page.......the left-hand list has it towards the bottom by where you see Forum/Message Board. However, then you get into the Irc/MirC weirdness and I have no idea what to tell you on that. On another thread, a long time ago, Jarkko gave instruction for how to get into the chatroom. Perhaps he or someone else will be kind enough to bring it to this location, or tell you where it's at. I had to get help in order to get there, and some others have had trouble, so I'm definitely not the one to ask. However, I'd sure love to see you there! It's well worth the effort :D .

 ...ooo, Elizabeth...yes, I've got really confused and made the big confusion for you as well...so funny... :)
I've got confused about the picture of Paula at the Gallery and some chat that she made somewhere...anyway...thanks a lot for your info...
I've tried a few times to get into the chat room, but I couldn't for some unknown for me reason to do it...now I know there is a secret... and I should find out the way to get into this hidden community...may be someone else will help me :) ... :D because I really hope to see you there...also I want to see Partizan...the last few days I've spent hours reading some huge postings, written because of him...I've seen fire, sparks from the crossed swords...I've sense the smell of gunpowder...it was quite new for me and made me aware that this is not a place for weak one...so, first I should prepare myself before to get there... but can I do it?... :)
