Looking for someone to travel to a concert

Hi,

I’ve been looking like crazy for someone to accompany me to Leonard Cohen concert, sadly I haven’t found anyone yet. None of my friends is interested. :(
Is any member of this forum eager to join me? I haven’t got a ticket yet and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get one but I hope it’s not too late.
I’ve seen a few people from my country on this forum ( I’m from Poland). I was thinking about Germany, Denmark, Holland.
I hope there’s someone from my country who will join me . :D :?:

It will probably be harder to find a ticket than to find someone to come with you, but if you do somehow find a ticket, don't let it stop you if you're alone. Once there you will be surrounded by people who share your enthousiasm and you will have the time of your life!

Thank you Darling for your support, however the surrounding enthusiasm is not always enough. I’ve been to some concerts abroad and when you can’t share your emotions in your native language immediately after the show or sometimes during it, you’re left with the feeling of abandonment. Foreign language speaking audience contributes to the feeling of alienation as well.
You know that feeling when you’ve been awaiting for something important for a long time, you are excited and it’s a highlight of your life and suddenly everything ends. People are talking, heading for somewhere and you are left alone in such a spiritual moment of your life. Obviously, we are alone but concerts of our favourite artists are the happenings in which we experience similar emotions, we unite for that moment and sometimes feel something like communion with other people...so it would be nice to share what I feel with someone .

Another reason for which I’m looking for a co-traveller is quite down to earth, namely I won’t be able drive by myself all the way long and sharing the cost of petrol is also of some importance to me.

I understand very well what you mean and the practical, down to earth reasons are very valid ones. But if you can overcome those, don't worry, there are usually fan meet-ups before and after the shows arranged through this forum.

I got to meet Izielle who doesn't speak french and came from Puerto Rico to Chicoutimi, a 99,9% french-speaking Quebec town and we got to share our enthousiasm together and are keeping in touch since then. So you may leave home alone, but come back with new although far away friends. I'm sure other people from the forum can testify to something similar.

I do hope you find someone but if you don't, keep all this in mind.

Good luck with whatever you decide! :)

Hello!
Me and my wife are going to Amsterdam and will gladly meet You there. But - as Darling said - it's hard to find tickets. We ordered them a couple of months ago, as well as airline tickets. But if You manage to do that somehow now and Amsterdam will be Your choice, we're looking forward to hear from You on this forum.

Ola, I believe that there are still tickets available for Amsterdam, if your decide to go there. And I also happen to have one too many: as I'll be there, I can hand it over to you before the concert. I'll sell it at face value (or less depending on the demand...).
