The ticket sale hasn't started yet. There is not a single Austrian webpage or newsline yet promoting the concert.

I just talked to someone from the Konzerthaus on the phone.
She said that maybe today there could be some clarification regarding ticket sale (the don't see the event in their system yet) but --- more --- probably not until next midweek.
Regards,

"The Standard", one of the biggest Austrian Newspapers, announced the LC-concert today on their webpage.
It's also announced, that the tickets will be available at Monday, 21.07.2008.

Any thoughts on where tickets will be available for purchase online?

London o2 was my 6th and supposedly final concert of the tour but may not be able to resist the allure of a concert hall in Vienna, or the Dublin return for that matter.

Any predictions on ticket price for the Konzerthaus? With such a small capacity I'd be concerned it may come close to the Montreux prices (about €240 if I remember correctly).

prendio2,

Were you successful?

I got through earlier on....but, alas, those top prices are just too much to handle on top of prospective travel and accommodation costs.

I found available tickets... but haven't been able to convince myself yet that I could afford another European Cohen Excursion.

I could sit on the balcony for €95, which in such a small venue would surely be great, €196 to sit 6 rows from the front...

There's a concert hall in Vienna alright... wonder will I make it there!

Gave up on konzerthaus.at whose system kept collapsing or refusing my credit card ... but managed to get a 132 euro seat at the side on oeticket.com. Yes, expensive but the venue is amazing!

konzerthaus.at was down so I went on oeticket.com to check it out... ended up buying a €200 ticket on the floor.. row 8 seat 1 which is immediately left of the center aisle.. I don't know if I can really afford this but anyhow..

First day back at work after two week break in which I went to Leonard gigs in Bruges, Amsterdam and London and I've already booked the next one!

This is sure to be another great one. It would seem to me to be the smallest capacity he will play to on the tour. Am I right in that assumption? The capacity is 1,865.

I went for the €200 tickets as well. Eye-watering stuff but an opportunity like this doesn't come along very often in one's lifetime. It's a lovely hall and is only 10 mins walk from where I live.

Regarding the oft-quoted line from "Take This Waltz", I do think there is some evidence that the Konzerthaus may have been the hall Cohen had in mind when he wrote that line. (There is no reference to a concert hall in the Lorca.) The Files tell us that he played there on his 1972, 1980 and 1985 European tours. There is no other comparable hall in the city except the Musikverein, where AFAIK he has not played, and the Staatsoper, which strictly speaking is not a concert hall but an opera house (he hasn't played there either).

Finally, I think it is more than likely that he will add a second night there on the 25th.

For what it's worth the venue seem to have (or did a minute or two ago) odd single seats dotted around in rows that oeticket are showing as sold out. Just got 6th row from stage near the centre. Might have all gone now though. Was going to go to Paris - there'd been a 5th row side seat available online for ages there, but someone snapped it up this afternoon grrr. Guess it was someone like me waiting to see which would have cheaper tickets, Paris or Vienna.
NB Venue sells tickets online about 8 Euro cheaper than oeticket (when their website is working).
