I was watching an episode of this show originally aired November of 2006. The lead character was out for coffee with this really good looking man. She was trying to make small talk and asked him what kind of music he liked. He said, “I like “Snow Patrol” and Leonard Cohen, I like Leonard Cohen”. Her reply was, “Gravel voice, but somehow it’s soothing.”

Yet another modern reference to our man. I find it interesting how much an influence he has been on modern music. So many of the bands my girls like have him listed as an influence, the only one I know of who doesn’t list him, lists “Velvet Underground”. His music has influenced at least two generations and is now rippling out to a third. Not bad for a musician, poet, author, songwriter, whom no one has ever heard of.
