'Google it' is good advice. There are several free downloads you can use. Realplayer will 'capture' the video ie you can download it to your pc. Then you need software (again several are free) to convert the video to a suitable format to burn to disc.

For Mac download with Real Player 11 , convert with ISquint, drop the converted files on Toast or IDVD. Takes a long time. Or use Snapz Pro video capture software . Easier to buy the disc. You get better quality too.

Lighting - I am struggling to work the DVD player I stand no chance didn't understand a word you said

Paula, someone on this forum should have a DVD-R( although I don't think it's been officially issued) and will probably offer it as a trade. If you've come as far an internet forum, the DVD player will be no problem soon enough.
