Irene - I also will keep my fingers crossed. Hope it will work even though I am roughly 15000 km away.
I understand your desperation and I do really hope everything will be OK and you'll be able to see and listen to The Master live.

And good luck and fingers crossed from me, too... I am sure it will work out for you and you will be able to listen to Leonard in a great seat at the venue of your choice! At least I hope so...

Hi Irene. I wish I could help you but I am thousands of miles away in America. I know how you are feeling. I spent a one night trip to Denmark to see Leonard because I didn't think he would be in the US or Canada again for many months, if ever. It was worth every penny and all the lost sleep! :D

But I know how frustrating it is to be in the same country and not be able to make it to a concert. I felt that when he was in Canada which is not far from where I live. However, the cost of the tickets was too dear.

Good luck. I will try to surround you with positive thoughts....and serendipity. It COULD happen! :)

After the long wait - extreme disappointment.

How can they justify the prices - and venues (wineries!!) - for Leonard's concerts? $200 for a seat in the awful Entertainment Centre!!
Completely out of the range for ordinary working people from the western suburbs of Sydney. It seems that 'Greed is good' - even for my elderly buddhist hero.

yes wineries are for the rich with a car and money to drive 200 ks and buy a seat for $300. sadly way out of my range any way i look at it. the entertainment centre isnt my fave place either belive me but if i can be in front section im ok. can just scrape 200 bucks togther if i live on beans and bread for two weeks. it does make it hard ;the business side of it all and especially those who magically get the first few rows to every big name show and sell them on ebay for ten times the price. it can be most frustrating. real fans arnt often the winners. its all about mula. as usuall. but im willing to do what i can to be there. and G-D will know my heart and my deep love and reverence for this man.

If people are not happy with the price, stay home in protest.

I live 450km from Sydney/Melbourne and it costs me $250 return for airfares plus around $200 a night for accommodation.

I have a lowly paid job in a very small country town, but $600-$700 to see Leonard seems awfully cheap to me.

dont get me wrong i think is price is fine as far as shows goes.yet for me personally id rather not the wineries - but it still is hard esp when we had no warning. - IF i had the money id go to all in the country! some people say 'ooh i dont have it' meaning its a struggle and some truly dont have it. im planning to do somthing illegal before the morning thats how much going means to me. some of us simpley have no choice. :D

I can think of a lot of words to describe Leonard Cohen - greedy is definitely not one of them! Please remember that the price of the tickets has to cover the cost of the band, the crew, the venue, the travel and lodging, the promoter's fee, the management fee, etc.

From one desperate aussie to another,
No price is too great to pay to see this concert. I am a total Cohen tragic and when this world tour started I bought gold tickets for the Copenhagen show. So from Perth to Copenhagen cost me more than I would spend on a car. Was it worth it - ABSOLUTELY.

Now I find he is coming to Perth, to the beautiful Swan Valley. Am I dissappointed that I spent all that money going overseas - ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I have just stolen some more of the kids inheritance, bought tickets for Sydney and for Perth.

Leonard will get nothing in my will, nor will the kids. Will I die happy - ABSOLUTELY.

Does anyone want to catch up for pre match drinks in Sydney.

Let me know please, it would be good to get into a group of Cohen tragics and swap songs and war stories.

Cheers
Frank
