Selling your extra ticket on the Forum . . .

Inasmuch as none of my friends are LC fans, I'm wondering how one would go about selling an extra ticket on the Forum - at cost, of course. With the new setup of having to pick up tix just prior to concert, it would seem that there is a fair amount of risk for the Buyer, unless I'm missing something here. I mean a Buyer has to pay in advance & then you both agree, sight unseen, to meet at the venue in order to provide the ticket moments before the concert begins, right?

I'm trying to figure this out before I make my purchase tomorrow. I always figure you get a better seat if you're buying 2, but that leaves me with one extra. But with the new setup, it could be that everyone on the Forum will easily be able to purchase their own tickets, so I'm torn. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Lori

I would think you'd get a better seat selection if you bought one ticket-but that said, I don't think you'll have anything to worry about either finding someone to buy an extra, or having them show up to renumerate you at the venue.
You should have seen it at the Beacon! I was lucky to see someone actually get a miracle ticket at cost right before the show. It was great. There were a lot of people praying for tickets in the freezing cold before the show started.

Ponoma my take on it is why would you want to buy an extra ticket just for the sake of it when you know you only need one.

You have to pay for it and then have the stress of worrying about how to offload it and you are taking a seat that someone else would want.

I would have thought you would get a better seat just getting one.

tashi - Actually I did see him at the Beacon! When I walked by the theatre at 4:00, there were probably 60 people waiting in a long line, in the off-chance that there might be some returns that would be made available.

paula - You're absolutely right - I don't need the stress.

Thank you both. I'll buy one and forget about it.

Resale at cost happens more than you think...its all part of behaving like a family member in the Forum family.

No stress. Demand is high, and the exchange can easily be handled by mail/Fedex.

Leonard I know it happens I have done so myself my point is why bother if you only need one ticket.

I have previously bought two tickets on the basis of someone coming with me and then they have changed their mind and I have sold the spare on the forum but why would you want to deliberately buy two tickets when you know you only need one what is the point.

Different strokes different folks

leonardmtl - Regarding your comment: "Demand is high, and the exchange can easily be handled by mail/Fedex."

How would that work? I was under the impression that tix had to be picked up on the day of show. Is that not correct?

I have been wondering as well whether the will-call system means the tickets must be picked up the day of the concert, or whether i could pick them up a day in advance? Does anyone know about that? Jarkko?

... you lose your grip, and then you slip into the masterpiece...

Pomona,

You are right....I forgot about the new rules..........I did my sale to a Forum member under the old rules!

Now that means whoever you are selling the tickets to has to meet you just before the concert.

Not as efficient but more protective of the greater good

Well, Leonard, I have some new information. On my ticket receipt from the Wang Theatre:
"If your tickets are for a future date, unless otherwise indicated, you can pick them up anytime beginning at noon tomorrow up until 5 minutes before the show is scheduled to begin."

So I guess I could have easily purchased 2 and mailed one to one of the less fortunate members who were not able to get a ticket today. Damn. Wish I'd had this information before 10:15 today.
