EBAY SCALPERS

Post by PanCogito »

Yesterday there were 47 Leonard Cohen tickets offered on EBAY. When I checked this morning (2/27/2009) the number of tickets ballooned to 169 and the prices are just outrages!!!!! For example, somebody (tictoc1954) is asking $899.00 for pair of tickets for Red Rocks (Morrison, Colorado) in 4th row – face value $149.00 each – so just about $600.00 of profit !!!!!

What I do not understand is, at this point, they are listing the exact seat locations, and promising shipping.

How can this be, since so far, everything is being sold on a will-call basis?

I think that the second day of pre-sale, for AMEX holders, had deferent rules and the tickets on EBAY are probably from them. I checked the AMEX presale and was very surprised that they had better seats available than we (Fan Club). Unfortunately I do not belong to AMEX club, I never did and I never will.

That's an average of about 7 tickets per show, about a quarter of one percent of the smallest venues on the tour.

Are we perhaps making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Yes, you’re right we have to don’t need to exaggerate but it s jus an example how some of us is trying to make a living. Of course, ticketmaster is a great satan in this matter but let’s do not forget small individual lucifers and know them by their names.
