Kingston Mini Event/Meet Up

I just thought I'd check if there were any seats left for the Kingston concert. How could I resist? Front row, seat 15! Only two hours from Ottawa. A day before my birthday too, so I deserve it, right?

so excited to hear you're coming to kingston!! first row, fantastic!! it's almost painful sitting in the front row...(three nights in oakland in the front row almost did me in).

so i'll get to meet you there before ottawa as opposed to in ottawa.

yes, there is a meet-up being planned by don cummer, a fellow forum member who you must know since he lives in ottawa? so don, any details to report yet?

I definitely think we should all get together either before or after the show in Kingston.

I checked out the K-Rock Centre on Saturday. There's no likely spots across the street, but down the road about a kilometre is the main drag for restaurants and bars. We should choose one of these and get the owner's permission ahead of time to bring our guitars.

Also, I'm looking at the possibility of having an open house the next day for Cohenistas at my cottage, which is about 45 minutes north of Kingston. We can gather by the lake on Saturday.

So let's keep this thread going -- maybe change the name to "Kingston Mini-Event" -- if we can do that.

18 days left!!!!

Don's right there's a lot of places within a short walk, it's going to be very busy though. Queens is having a spring reunion (homecoming's canceled this fall) and the Americans are having a long weekend.

Do you have a favourite spot Don?

My favourite spot is a little tapas restaurant on Ontario Street called Woodenheads. It has a sidewalk restaurant overlooking the park and the harbour, an indoors restaurant beside the pizza oven, and a back garden restaurant, surrounded by the stone walls of the buildings built in the 1850s. I wonder if they'd let us take the place over and haul out the guitars...

Don - what lake is your cottage on? Is it within an hour or so from Ottawa? I unfortunately can't make the concert in Kingston, but I might be able to sneak away for a few hours on Saturday.
