Lovely news gentle folk,
The Australian Live Performance Awards night has just been held (Monday 27th July) at the Sydney Opera house and Leonard's magnificent outdoor concert at Sandalford Winery in Perth, was judged the best international concert. I'm still running into new people who tell me they and their friends thought it was the best concert they had ever seen, they're right.

This award was an even more significant achievement than you might initially think, when you take into account that he was up against these other tour nominees: Neil Young; Grace Jones and Coldplay!
Cheers,
Andrew

Not quite, Greg. It was not the Perth location, but the concert programme and delivery itself, performed at 8 locations and 10 times in Australia (including Sandalford Winery) that won Australia's ' best international concert' award. The press cutting you've shared is just your local West Aus paper localising the award and making it relevant to local readers.Greg Ross wrote:Lovely news gentle folk,

A quick perusal of the feedback for all 10 concerts shows fans saying the particular performance they attended was the best concert they had ever seen!
In other words, all fans at all Aussie performances can say they saw Australia's best international concert in 2009.
