Oh my. mnkyface is so right. I've only watched "I Tried To Leave You" 20 or 30 times since these videos turned up on my "Leonard Cohen - YouTube" list yesterday. That segment with Anjani (AKA "The Pearl Of The Pacific" by Leonard's introduction) singing, "Baby, Baby, Baby" makes me - well, Iet's go with "very interested." And who knew, according to Leonard, she had a "mean streak?"

Well, that's all I have time for - I need to watch this video again.

DrH- did you notice they captioned Anjani "Angie Thomas" ??

Angie is rocking the blue eyeshadow like nobody's business.

I'm the one who uploaded the videos from Kalvøya, Norway, 1985. Thank you all for the kind responses! I have just discovered that the concert was not in 1984, but in 1985 (which the observant ones can see written on the stage in the video). Since there is a 10 minutes limit to YouTube videos, I could not upload the whole recording of "I Tried to Leave You", and so the last minute of it is missing. In the near future I will upload many more videos of both Leonard Cohen and Anjani, and others.

Such a bluesy rock version of 'I Tried to Leave You'. So different from how it's performed now at the concerts. Do we women now have to get mean? Thank you Esther for posting the links to these excellent videos.

When we're on I Tried To Leave You used as introduction of the band, what's the record? I think I had one version which is 20 minutes long or so. I think it's also from 1985.
