Climb on board the 'France Cohen Tour Shuttle'
OK, so this is me thinking out loud. While nothing is definite, I am putting together details to tour France and hopefully see all six France shows...or at least a bunch of Cohen fans, and a lot of France.
One of those details to be decided, is whether to go by rail or rent a car. If it is a car, then it would be a shame to be driving around France with empty seats.
Here's the basic route:

I thought I would check to see if anyone else out there in Cohenland may be interested in sharing a ride and expenses (rental, fuel, etc.) to any or all segments of this tour. Basically you can climb on, or climb off, at any city, space permitting of course. Naturally, we are on a mission, and this forward momentum would not allow return trips. I don't think the driving will be too much as to require a second driver, just adventurous passengers. I'll probably crack my gps and load up the euro-version.
So here's a proposed itinerary leaving from Paris (there are obviously a plethora of other possibilities but...):
Feb 28 - Paris > Caen
Explore the area: Visit WW sites, St. Malo, Mont St Michel, Dinan etc. Could be a lot of driving so we may want to stay overnight in that area and head to Caen in the morning.
March 1 - Explore Caen/the area some more and see Leonard!!!
March 2 - Caen > Lille
Visit WW sites, Rouen on way to Lille.
March 3 - Visit Lille and see Leonard!!!
March 4 - This one gets interesting...
Brugge (1hr), then Ghent (1hr), then Brussels (1hr). Stay in Brussels then head to Strasbourg (4hr) the next day. I haven't been to Ghent and I have a friend there.
Another option is to work our way to Strasbourg and visit Reims, Metz, or any other suggestions, on the way, arriving in Strasbourg for a late dinner.
March 5 - Visit Strasbourg and see Leonard!!!
I love Strasbourg!
March 6 - Strasbourg > Marseille
This is the longest segment of the trip coming in at 7+ hours of driving. So where do we stop? Lyon is 4.5 hours, so a good place to aim for. Of course there is Geneva (4hr) too, but that leaves a longer drive to Marseille the next day.
March 7 - Visit Marseille and see Leonard!!!
March 8 - It'a about a 2 hour drive from Marseille to Cannes/Nice/Antibes for a day to explore the Cote d'Azur and spend the night. Or head straight to Grenoble (3hr).
March 9 - On to Grenoble (4.5hr) and see Leonard!!!
March 10 - Grenoble > Tours
This is another long drive at 6hr and I am not sure where to stop yet, but the Auvergne region is quite nice with the Puy de Dôme if you want to climb a mountain.
March 11 - Visit Tours and see Leonard!!!
March 12 - Tours > Paris ...or head to Bratislava

So there you have it...we'll see what September brings!
Cheers,
