One of the truly phenomenon of the Croatian culture is its naive art.
The Museum of Naive Art is located in upper old town, near the St Mark Church and the parliament building. It waits for its new building, so the exhibition is small, only few rooms.

The Zagreb City Museum exhibits the complete history of the city from prehistoric era to the 1990s, with special accent on the medieval town (actually two towns) founded in 1092.
It's located in upper town, and needs couple of hours to be seen.
The museum is open:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Thursday 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Saturday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Sundays, on the British Square ("Britanac"), which is very near the main square, Zagreb has its antique market. (It's very expensive.)
Website (Croatian only, but good gallery):
http://www.udruga-libertina.hr/dogadaji-britanac.html
The actual flea market is out of downtown, more like the Balkan-style bazaar. Located at Hrelic (a.k.a. Jakusevac). Open also Sundays. Go there with the bus from the central train station. It's VERY cheap (prices couple of Euros).

Zagreb actually has two old upper towns, Gradec (Gornji grad = upper town) and Kaptol (the Capitol). The first was citizen's town, the second church town, bishop's centre, back in the medieval time.
Entrance to the Upper Town: Stone Gate (Gate/Church) and St. George (dragon is dead bellow his feet)
The main square at the Upper Town: left is the government palace, right is the Parliament, in the middle St. Mark Church.
Kaptol: the Zagreb cathedral

Place to see is also Medvedgrad, Zagreb's old fortress in the hills above the city. Zagreb has its own mountain (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medvednica ) which serves as the park, and its 30 mins walk to the burg. There you can find good pub for eat and drink:)

And one of the best places to eat Croatian food and drink THE BEST (home-made, traditional) BEER IN CROATIA is the pubs which is also titled MEDVEDGRAD (after the city fortress in the hills).
Also, very affordable prices, even cheap for the standards of Croatian restaurants.
http://www.pivnica-medvedgrad.hr/index-eng.html
Locations:
Tkalciceva Street 36, named "Mali Medo" (Little Bear) - very small, in Zagreb's cafe street
Ilica 49 - named "Medvedgrad", very spacious, plus enormously big Summer garden, near the main square (on Zagreb downtown's main street Ilica), highly recommended
Very similar (actually it used to be the same company but they split) is "Zlatni medo" (Golden Bear), located in Savska, in enormously big space, few stops from Ilica / main square. >
http://www.pivnica.hr/ Also traditional dark and light beers for cheap prices, and traditional meals (that means meat, sausages etc.)
Another good place for eating, popular among the tourists, and affordable, is NOKTURNO, located in Skalinska, small street which connects Tkalciceva and the cathedral. Prices few Euros and very good, plus cheap beer.

Here's my photo, you can see pub's Summer terrace.

Ignoring previous post, beer fans have to try VELEBITSKO, one of - they say - Europe's best beers. It's hard to find, but the Socialist-looking bar in Bogoviceva street, near the main square, has it. The bar is called "Pushlek" or "Cvjetni".
http://www.inyourpocket.com/croatia/zag ... trg_46704v
Opposite Bulldog, there is a different kind of café which offers an entirely different experience. A socialist interior attracts plenty of visitors, especially intellectuals and students. In case you’re lucky to get a window seat, you can enjoy the slapdash of Zagreb street life.

http://www.bottledbeer.co.uk/index.html?beerid=2013
(Of course, do not take bottled in the bar, but from the barrel.)
