Hi Kush,
More and more, as I struggle with how to "define," to "label" Leonard ~ as though that's even necessary to do with another person :( ~ the more I'm willing to consider for ascribing the concept/term of "prophet." Accepted across time as valid, we seem so reluctant to consider a reality that a contemporary one is amongst us. Yet, as someone said to me, "the consistency [continuity] of his message" across his career, seems to bear much evidence. I'm considering it.

I think I may have read that book too, Peter, but I thought it was by Ken Follett. However, I can't find it on the bookshelf now, so you may well be right. It was really scary to think that there could be something so lethal still out there.

Regarding Leonard's line, I have always taken it to refer to that other plague out of Africa, Aids. Hence the naked man and woman being a thing of the past. Safe sex and all that.

Keep an eye on that cold :)

letter from I shorts in the irish independent.

How very fitting for these pandemic days are some of the lyrics of the late, great Leonard Cohen’s Waiting For The Miracle....
