I wanted to let all of our Forum friends know that one of our members, Mike Lutomski who posted here as Kokenpere is recovering from a very difficult time. I spoke with Mike last night and in September he had a brain aneurysm that kept him in the hospital until December. His wife told me that he almost didn't make it on several occasions. He is at home rcovering now wearing a crash helmit to protect him in case of falls and using a walker.

Please keep this great Cohen fan in your thoughts and prayers. I hope he will resume posting again.

All the best,

Joe

I do not know him...nor you...but tell him ... that he is in our thoughts and will remain there until

he recovers.....

Friends of Leonard are a mighty crowd...and I am sure he will hear our words..
Also...I think Leonard has a special connection in that area......

Dear Mike ~

I'm relieved to see the note from YOU and that you are thinking/writing/typing with great lucidity. I will write to you privately regarding the irony regarding something you told me about [also privately] a while back. I'm sure you know already.

For now, the more you listen to Leonard, the quicker you'll heal... something you already know.

My gratitude to your wife for keeping Joe updated on your condition and progress. Best of all to hear directly from you :D .

Love,
Lizzy

Hi Michael, it sounds as though you’ve been through quite the ordeal. I can’t even imagine how frightening that must have been for you and your family
I wish you all the best in you recovery and hope you get lots of Leonard listening time.

Mike,

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I thought you might want to hear of the outcome of a similar case. A young man who did home/yard work for us suffered a double brain aneurysm back in 1993 (when he was just 33 years old). His recovery was hampered by a persistent staph infection, but even with that serious development, was complete within 12 months. I remember he also initially wore a bicycling helmet to protect his skull after the surgery. He has had no subsequent events and is fine today, 17 years later; in fact, he shovelled us out of a 12-inch snowfall on January 27 without much effort!

Hang in there, our thoughts are with you. My recommendations are (1) avoid hospital infections at all costs, and (2) listen to at least two hours a day of Leonard's music for its therapeutic values.

Curt
