How old are you all?

Post by greenfeld69 »

Ladies don't have to answer, though do feel free!

I'm guessing I'm reasonably young to be a Leonard fan, though I am now 28!

I don't think age is an issue but most younger people haven't heard of him. Often only through Jeff Buckley or other cover versions. I bought Greatest Hits out of interest and loved it.

In my workplace, an office populated by 300 plus people, only a handful have even heard of Leonard and they're all close to retiring age.

Hey, I'm really surprised! It's good to know us 'kids' are listening to Leonard (I wish I were younger already)! Are you musicians by any chance? From my experience it's one of the most common roads to Mr Cohen.

You know, I've worried before now that my musical career might never take off before I'm too old but look at Leonard, I've still got years to go!

 Not a musician unless you count singing in the shower, haha. I was more turned on by Leonard because I was interested in writing.

I've never had a problem with telling my age. I'm 50 years old and have been a fan since Leonard's very FIRST album.

Which means I've been having this "love affair" with Leonard since 1967.

I've followed him over all these years, and am in complete awe of this most unusual man. His words and his music make me smile and cry and fill up my heart and soul completely.

It's nice to hear there are younger folks out there who are getting to know the man and his music.

Robin

P.S. This is truly a GREAT forum.

Hi Robin ~

Welcome to this "GREAT forum"! I agree with you :D . I've been following Leonard almost as long, but you started at a younger age  .

Thank you Lizzytysh for that kind "Welcome".

I'm not all that new to the forum. I was posting back a couple of years ago when I had Webtv. There came a time when posting with Webtv became a problem.

I have recently been given a computer by my son and it's so great to be able to do SO MANY things that CANNOT be done with Webtv.

I'm so excited about Leonard's new CD. Can't wait till October 26th.

I love the song "Because Of" that we got to hear on http://www.abc.net/au/rn
that was done on September 17th. I'm listening to it again as I post this.

I was hoping to copy it to a CD, but it's copyright protected and cannt be copied. Unless I'm doing something wrong here.

I'm still VERY NEW to computers. My son gave me his computer only a few weeks ago, and MOST of the time, I'm completely LOST on here.

I hope to be able to post more with all of you. My son is still using this computer a LOT so I don't get that much time on it. LONG STORY.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Hi Robin ~

Is that why your name was familiar? Or, did you use another one previously? When I saw your posting, I went to your Profile to try for clues, because your name seemed familiar to me. That didn't help, however, except to show that you'd given Leonard a greeting. I finally settled on that being the reason for the 'familiarity.' Were you on the site before Jarkko revamped it? If that's the case, then I do 'remember' you because I'd visit there and read, posting only very occasionally [those were the good ol' days, eh, Partisan  ?] ~ your name just really struck a chord when I saw it here. With the Robin being a bird, and then Orfe just an unusual [almost Nordic?] sounding name to follow it ~ it makes a memorable, phonetic combination.

So, you're one of the lucky ones ~ one song is better than none  . Well, I say 'lucky' but I'm still content to wait. It's simply further proof of what I've always believed, that good things are worth waiting for.

So, your son gave you his computer, but is still the one to use it most of the time? Sounds like a 'gift' in name only  ~ those sons; gotta watch 'em  .

~ Lizzy

I'm glad to hear that you plan to keep on posting :D .

In 30 years time my age and Leonard's age will be consecutive square numbers respectively.
Now, that will be a special year. :D
We will raise a glass to each other in celebration.....

"I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now"...Actually, I'm 53, but people often say I look ten years younger. I still have my hair, and I've been to numerous concerts and gis this year. All the best, John E
