8.43am Friday Oct 22nd 04, Dublin.

Grafton street is wet, HMV is open,
Anxious approach to the comfort spot
I spot her, new and bright with her head turned slightly, looking past me.
my heart skips a beat,
It has been so long since TNS
Its been so long since New York

Carefully and quickly she becomes mine with a pleasant quip from the seller,
"Your the third" he says, "we opened at 8.30" he continues almost accusingly,
"Its raining" I said and smiled and left
less €22 euro but with the promise of new love and reassurance
It's going to be a good day in the order of the unified heart.

Thank you Lizzy, lovely to hear from you. As you already know you are in for a treat when Monday comes around. Work is the scourge of the listening classes today, I shall have to wait for the traffic jam to reaquaint myself with Heather. They better have saved my place!!

Rob, my local HMV also told me by telephone that the release day is the release day but as you read Heather was waiting on the shelves this morning. If you can visit do so, or try Virgin.

Hanna, is it true that Heather has gone gold already in Poland? I have seen the billboard promo pic on the website. When was Heather released in Poland?

Talk to you all soon.
Kieron

Yes, Kieron ~ I need to check again with my record store guy. He assured me he'd have it on Monday. I will be very  if he doesn't.

'Saved your place' ~ good one, Kieron.

25th October 2004
I will be amongst the lakes and mountains of the Lake District National Park in England. There are shops which sell walking boots, anoraks, Kendal mint cake, maps, compasses, more Kendal mint cake, woollens, hats, waterproofs and................. Kendal mint cake.
I may be half way up a mountain but there will be no HMV. I may be on a boat in the middle of the lake but here will be no Virgin Records. I may be between tarns but there will be no MVC. I may find a shop which may, just may, have what I'm looking for but I guess if I ask for Cohen they will give me Wordsworth... I will wander lonely as a cloud. I will ask for Heather and probably be met with inquisitive looks and comments which only subscribe to tourists and nomads.

26th October
I will be among the mountains and the lakes. It will be raining rain of unparalled proportion and the mountains will have no peaks and the lakes will be overflowing and Heather will be as elusive. There will still be Kendal mint cake in abundance but I will not be able to barter with it.

27th October
I will be at Wrynose pass and Hardknott pass and the roman fort and, if I turn towards civilisation, I may hear Dear Heather being carried in the wind from Sellafield and I will glow with warmth and anticipation.

28th October
I will be in the Yorkshire Dales walking the valleys and the hills and the only heather will be on the moors.. if there are moors in this part of Yorkshire!

29th October
back at work... I will venture to my local record shop and ask for Heather and they will say..'she doesn't work here anymore'
and I will be the only cohenite in the world who hasn't found Heather........ but I will have my Kendal mint cake.

Hi Pete ~

May I anticipate trying one of these, obviously infamous, Kendal mint cakes when I stop by in England this summer?

As for me, what's a day  ~ called my record store guy, and I won't have the cd until Tuesday, October 26 ~ the day that all his deliveries of new material arrive. On the upside, he said that a small poster comes with it that he's saving for me :D . All's well that ends well 8) . In the meantime, I have my continuous listening to Brel to keep me happy :D .

Mirek, No, there was no litho! I bought DH in Media Markt. I am desperately looking for that litho mentioned on SMP website? Did you get a CD with litho? Let us know if you find out where we can get that litho, please!
