Hi - I am wodering if anyone has any nice, quite cheap accommodation hints for Ghent. I am thinking small, family run style guest house for as cheap as possible, but with a bathroom, breakfast perhaps. Many thanks in advance!

Since many were in Ghent last time, could anyone suggest hotels they liked (not family/bed & breakfast types, but regular hotel types) that are not too far from the venue? Thanks.

In 2010, I stayed at the Novotel Gent Centrum (suggested back then by Maarten, thank you, on the forum)
The accommodation was lovely and the location was surperb.

We'll be staying at the NH Gent Belfort which is just opposite the Novotel. We stayed there last time and it was very comfortable, with a good breakfast included! We certainly bumped into a lot of concertgoers there, and I believe there are many who've already booked there again.

I'ms staying at Novotel Gent Centrum too!, good choice, very central also stayed there last time. Looking forward to going back to Ghent to see if they've finished all the building works as last time most of the square near the hotel was a bit like a building site.

Thank you, Joy! NH Gent Belfort is on my list of possibilities & I've been planning to call them, so it helps alot to know that you were pleased with their accommodations.

I have been living in Gent next to a small good hotel in a very quiet street in the historic center and with reasonable prices.
They have a website :
www.hotelflandria-gent.be
Prices are about 65 euro for 2 , with bathroom and breakfast included.
The hotel is recommended by Trotter and so it's important to make reservations in time.
good luck!

Remember to use trivago web site to find the best rates for the hotels!
Even though booking has always good prices, and most of them are refundable with no payement in advance.
NH Belfort for us too.
