Hi Kush,

Saw Voice of The Wetlands Allstars (with Tab Benoit) at a festival this summer. Enjoyed their performance.

Posts in the politics section are subject to be removed after a period of time, I think. If so, this may be the
reason for the missing link.

Hi Steven,

I would have liked to be at that concert - Voice of the Wetlands Allstars, has a nice ring to it. Cyril Neville is also part of this group.

I saw Tab Benoit at a club in New Orleans and he is very passionate about the issue of coastal erosion and wetlands and spent sometime talking about it as he does at every concert - not everyone appreciated it, folks wanted to see him sing and play the guitar. He had Charles Neville play sax for him throughout the evening.
Yes I noticed the bottom section had almost fallen out, wondered what the deal was. :)

Hi Kush,

I knew you'd have enjoyed this group (and many of the others at the festival).
Wished you could have been there.

All the members of the Voice of the Wetlands Allstars performed very well.
It was an outstanding assemblage of musicians. Johnny Sansone's harmonica playing and
vocal performance are especially memorable to me.

Will try to listen to the interview you linked to within the next week.

I had not heard Johnny Sansone before, thanks for the link Steven. Here is one of Cyril Neville with a stirring version of This is My Country at Austin City Limits...

I will keep an eye out for future VoW Allstars concerts.

Hi Kush,

I hadn't heard of Johnny Sansone either until he was introduced on stage at the festival.

Thanks for posting the Cyril Neville link. He does "This Is My Country" justice," to say the least. :)
The song and rendition are infused with positive affirmation.

Yes it does. All of the Neville brothers are a class act, onstage and off. They each have unique musical sensibilities and personalities but are able to bring the different aspects of their music together onstage to create a unique yet varied sound within a single concert.

Amazing Grace/One Love medley by Neville Brothers live

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT8ym1gOfCY

"Aaron is one of the world's great singers, a figure of rugged power, built like a tank but has the most angelic singing voice. A voice that could almost redeem a lost soul. It seems so incongruous. So much for appearances. There's so much spirituality in his singing that it could even bring sanity back in a world of madness."

Hi Kush,

A great performance of the two songs. Didn't think the two would flow together. They made
it work by artistry. The softness of the first song's delivery powerfully predisposes people
to the more joyous emotions of the second song.
