Hello Jarkko
Is there any hope for Israel in 2013?

I don't know but if you want to be sure to see him next year, a trip abroad might be a good idea.

Hi Jarkko,
I guess you are now going to be getting a lot of these ...
But, any hope for South Africa at all?
There have been rumours in our press that Big Concerts is hoping to bring Mr Cohen to South Africa.

I saw LC in CT at a beautifully renovated small theater in 2009.
I didn't like the town very much but the theater was superb. It had just recently been renovated in Art Deco style.
Would love to see him back in CT. There are several really nice venues in the state.
I think his music and style works so well in smaller intimate, beautifully decorated venues.
I'll be going to the December 18 concert at MSG. It should be interesting being around 20K fans. I am sure it will be magical.
Kind Regards,
Dari

Reading between the lines, it seems to me that so far for 2013 there is a 'yes' section (of the board and of the world) and a 'perhaps you should think of traveling' section.
The way it looks like it's playing out, UK/Europe will get the summer and perhaps early fall, and then UH will head elsewhere for the balance of the year. I have to think Aus/NZ will take the part of the calendar North America had this year. But if Super J adds Australia/NZ to the title of this particular thread then my fellow Pacificans might have reason to get a little worried.
Or maybe not--

Where's my sages?!?! Monkey!! Decipher the dots!!! Decryptify the clues!!

haha - I got nothing! Except a sinking feeling that - like you said - Aus/NZ would take the place the US had this year. Though he could make a quick stop in Oakland (Paramount - yes, please!) or San Jose on his way over.

To be honest though - I'd be happy for the folks Down Under...it's been a few years now and they've waited patiently. I would also love to see him do South Africa, South America, or Asia because I think it would be fun to follow "virtually" - to see the reactions to Leonard in those parts of the world. I'd be seriously tempted to travel to Asia if Leonard did something like Budokan, just to be there for the historical significance of it all...

heh heh.. I can rest easy knowing you are on the case.
Asia would be one place easier for us here to get to than for other people -- still not cheap however-- and we'd seriously consider it. The "# of concerts/travel amount and cost" ratio would likely be pretty difficult to justify but it would be wonderful. It would be very interesting to see who the audience is for some of those-- locals, travelers, ex-pats...

Surely your patience will pay off. They haven't been there since 2010, right? So if they
don't go in 2013 and wait til the next year that would be four years... I can't see him waiting four years to do Aus/NZ.
The only other strong possibilities are (a) Aus/NZ in early 2014 or (b) retiring from touring and you'll never see him there again.
What it ends up being is--- What are they doing after 'Summer Europe 2013'? More Europe? Maybe, but why call it "Summer Europe" if they are going to stay past summer? North America? Just finishing now. Shows would sell well if they came back to USA/Canada but surely that would be kind of out-of-sync touring-wise. South America? South Africa? Asia? Maybe a few places, but all those are longshots.
Aus/NZ is logical.

Thanks for your analysis Scott, good logical thoughts but I don't like the possibility of (b)
I'll just have to keep being p . . . . . . (I can't even say that word anymore!) and stay as I am in the above image, still waiting with my bags packed ready to go.

I just noticed that the new logo (unified heart with eye inside) says WORLD tour 2013. The previous logo just said Leonard Cohen 2013...
