VIP tickets' cost

Post by mmdecapo »

How much do VIP tickets typically cost?

I'll be attending the Halifax show and wanted to get a sense of the costs.

Thanks, Michael

We can't be quite sure yet and prices do vary a bit between venues, however, you can expect to pay around $500 per VIP package. This includes the ticket and the merchandise.

I wish someone would think about the age, and limited income that so many of Leonard's oldest fans have. I have been listening to Leonard's music for over 40 years. I was introduced to it by a married woman I was in love with, who played me "Hey That's No Way To Say Goodbye"... and then she did. I am in construction, or used to be, but now cannot find work due to the economic slowdown and my age, so even coming up with $150 is not easy. I went to the Oakland concert in 2009 and sat in the last row in the theater. It wasn't bad tho as I was sitting with some San Francisco 25 year old Hipsters who knew the words to every song, and nobody bitched as we sat there singing with our eyes filled with tears. You all know LC's music so you know that half the time we were crying tears of joy, half the time tears of sorrow. So, some of his most ardent followers just find it very tough to afford his shows. I would like, no... I dream about him touring kind of solo and doing smaller venues so that the ticket price would be way lower. I love that he gets his "long stem roses and box of chocolates", every night he tours, but for many of us, that is extravagant. If he was to tour without a lighting designer, backup singers and a small orchestra... just him and his guitar, maybe he would be a bit more accessible. OH yea, that would also be a fine show!

putitupmike - Sadly, it ain't gonna happen! Even if Leonard did a one-man performance reading poetry, the shows would still attract the swooning hordes and the tickets would be seized by latter-day touts. No fault of Leonard's...he held the fort for forty years, and at his present age, we cannot begrudge him for going out with mass adulation. However, mainstream = money...and big money,at that. So time to let it all go by...just be grateful for what we once had, and the music.

Putitupmike, I like to believe that the VIP packages and the venues in huge auditorium allow seats at a very low price, as low as 55$ for the 2012 tour. That is very cheap and the atmosphere is the same from the front row to the last according to your experience.
