Not being fascinated by language is a complete stanger notion to me.
It is
dance music it was for good dancing, not for listening to the lyrics. Body language, you know.
Well, it is not the Court of Catherine the Great, here. No Napoléon will get out from behind a curtain to slap his glove toward the cheek of anybody asking for a duel to wash his honour. Or maybe I am mixing up the epochs, the persons, and the customs.
Well, Godin, very interesting cover of Georges Bizet's opera Carmen. Your Sweetheart has good taste!
Stromae is born in Belgium, though. But what the, he is a real international phenomenon.
Here a wikibio for the curious :

His music is good, but the lyrics are as good.
In
Alors On Danse he sings, for example (I just give the meaning, it is not a translation or an adaptation) "than we pray for this to stop, but it's not heaven, it's your body". Hell of lyrics, there, well written and all.
Interesting detail about him, at 29, he said that he wants to take few years of "retirement" to have a "normal life" (his words), avoid burn-out, and have space to write new songs. A real great artist.
